Internet time not working

Posted by: Samradford on 20 May 2014

I cannot get my Superuniti to sync time from the internet. This is a new problem in a network that had been working fine.

i have tried the on/off manoeuvre on the superuniti, but am not sure what to try next.

i shall try the modem i suppose....

I'd reset the internet for you but - who's got a paperclip these days?

Unusual for NTP to fail. Have you already used the manual re-sync command in the Settings->clock menu via your remote? If so, was there a status message indicating a problem? Have you looked in the advanced settings and noticed that two servers (0 and 1 from pool.ntp.org) are specified? You could change one or the other to a different stratum one service, local to your country. Most national metrology institutes offer this service. Here in Canada, it's time.nrc.ca while in the UK you can try ntp1.npl.co.uk. If you have a NAS, many also offer such a service: after telling your NAS where to get the time, you can enable an ntp service locally and point all your own network devices there instead. Best wishes for success and apologies for not having an explanation for the failure (if your internet connection is alive, it's incredibly unlikely that there is something wrong at ntp.org).

Thanks all. Love the paper clip.

tried both servers to no avail.

had success after resetting all network devices including, modem, switch and power line adapters (a necessary evil in this house).

so thankfully all fixed

incidentally I discovered that like many others on this forum that radio paradise 320 works well on wireless but not on my wired connection. Very frustrating.
