At last, cycling again.

It has all been my fault really. We moved house and I changed jobs at the same time, and I never made time to go cycling.

Last weekend I accidentally threw my nearly worn out trainers in the bin, so thought I'd better buy some proper cycling shoes and start to fight my beer gut.

So a pair of Specialized Tahoes and air in tyres later, off I went. Thankfully, I've the option of fens or gentle hills, so took the former option and cycled to Upware. No doubt I'll have some weird aches tomorrow, but my legs seemed fine. I think I'll do a two hour ride next weekend and see how that goes.

Here's my ride. From memory a 2004 Trek 4500, with a few mods.

Good for you Tony. Stick with it, but remember, it don't get any easier, you just get faster.

No respite for the Carlton. It works daily, but there was some nice light this afternoon between the showers so I caught her after a ride round for the fun of it!

Bit grubby, but never mind, when we get some nicer weather I give her a Spring clean!

The weather was also pretty good here in Norfolk but I had to wash the car (not been done for yonks) then go to the pub. Luckily I didn't have to drive back so a few pints of Guinness were the order of the day.

You're right George, and I usually don't know what a half measure is. Flat out, fearless, and stupid! I do hold back a little now though, as I needed 9 weeks off wurk after a fall in Chicksands six years ago. Not a career move!

I think they've closed the playground at Chicksands now. Shame. That's a friend wondering how to do the easy stuff! Tony

My cycle home from work this morning was torturous. An overnight frost and forgetting to pack my gloves meant that after a few miles my digits refused to work ! Brrr, remember that winter is still here, at least in the northern climes !
