Calling Simon in Suffolk

Simon,

I know you installed ferrite clamps on your ethernet cables. Have just been down to my local maplins where the clip on clamps are either too big or small.  My cat 6 is 7mm diameter. Where did you source yours many thanks

A little dab of Blu Tak inside slightly oversized snap-together ferrite core holds it in place just fine.

hi TB, I got my ferrite clamps from a RF component stockist, and they were designed to clamp on RG213 cable. My DC1 and Ethernet cable is narrower than RG213, and so I do as Hook says, put a blob of Blu-Tak inside and snap the clamp shut on the cable.

Thanks to both of you :-)

Now why would you do that?

I have such clamps on my computers, but had not thought about it for my hifi, even on my NAS.

Why wouldn't you try it, its cheap cant hurt anything to try, never know might make a difference.....might not, for a couple of quid its surely worth a punt
