Album view in compatibility mode

Posted by: DrPo on 07 June 2014

Hello all, I have already checked with Naim support and apparently there has been no reporting of such an issue to them so far thus I post it here just in case someone else has seen this (in fact, this is so easy to check that perhaps some reader will try it on the spot):

When selecting "compatibility mode" on n-stream for my streamer (UniliLite, why I need compatibility mode is a complicated story which I'd rather skip for the time being) and then "Album" view I get stuck in "loading" status, the screen freezes for minutes without any result. If I select any other view (artist/album, folder, track) I have no such issue. In fact in artist/album view I can "drill down" to the album tracks which seems weird.

my NAS is a Seagate Central.

thanks in advance for any ideas (or on the spot checks with feedback)

Just switched to "Compatibility Mode" on my NDX. No problems with album view. Running a Synology NAS

Maybe state why you need it, as someone maybe able to help you out with the issue.

HI Foxman, thanks for the fast response, I have recently changed my set up with both streamer and NAS wired via a D-link gigabit switch to a single Ethernet port TP LINK access point configured as wi-fi client as I cannot run an Ethernet cable from my router to the hi if system location (and with just a wifi connection I cannot play 24/192 files as has been repeatedly observed on this forum). For some funny reason in this set up n-stream fails to see my NAS unless I switch to compatibility mode first (after that most of the time it also succeeds in seeing the NAS in normal mode but loses the connection after a few minutes). Very frustrating.
