Posted by: Premmyboy on 16 June 2014
All the Beatles albums are to be released in mono all analogue vinyl as individual albums and as a box set this September 2014.
See analogue planet website for more details. Yippee!!!
Prem.
There is a 30 minute video of The Beatles MONO box set being unpacked and the artwork/vinyl looks excellent.
I have removed the link as it is to a third party - SoundAndVision - and such a link may violate Forum rules.

Thanks Richard. I picked up the link before you removed it. As it's not a link to another forum or ad for equipment it shouldn't break the rules.
I was only going to get a couple of the mono reissues, but after hearing Steve Js mono Please Please Me I really want the box set now.
Fingers crossed they're just as good, especially given how many times that LP had been played over the years.

Well here's the link:
Who, they look good, hope they sound as good as they look! Thanks for the link Richard, just watched it at work one of my colleagues asked "what are you doing" told her I was watching a bloke un wrap a box of Beatles records.
cue funny look….
Graham.
Wow - great video, thanks for posting Richard. The attention to detail is phenomenal! I can't wait for these to arrive.
Love the below-the-line comment from "Dommyluc":
After hearing the magnificent job Gilles Martin did on the DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 mix of the Criterion 50th anniversary edition of "A Hard Day's Night", the last thing I want is the Beatles in mono. Bring on the hi-res multi-channel Blu-ray audio discs! The CD versions of the stereo Beatles catalog already sound phenomenal when played just using Dolby Pro-logic IIx. Why in the would I want mono?
What a philistine!
Good stuff. And the 3 LP mono set of singles and b-sides is included. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for the link Fangloss. Really looking forward to getting this. It's a shame this attention to detail wasn't applied to the stereo box set.

There's a simple solution for hear The beatles in surround sound. He could buy the monos, turn his speakers to face each other then sit between them.Instant surround. What a ****.
Shipping those Beatles MONO box sets...
Where are you guys buying his from. Amazon have it for £288 - any better prices out there?
Gary
I will buy from my local independent. He may be more expensive than Amazon (although not necessarily). He will replace any damaged records and I'm happy to pay a little more if it means I have an alternative to Amazon.
Support your local record shop (and do it all year, not just in April),
Keith

Does anyone know where this photo was taken
Graham.
Probably at Optimal Media in Germany.

Steve.
Those boxes must be empty for the girl to carry so many. Do you think the pressings and the packing could be done on separate sites?
Looking at the last link Richard posted it would seem the package is being put together at the pressing plant in Germany, there's a picture of someone with gloves putting together a sleeve of Please Please Me at the plant.
I popped in to my local S/H shop and Dave's got a few of the original monos in.
Please Please Me,With The Beatles,A Hard Days Night,Help and Rubber Soul all between £30 and £50. So tempted just to get these. All first presses. The Please Please Me is the same as Steve J played me and Graham.
Steve. Just found this on the SH forum. Should we be worried. RD hope this does not break any forum rules.
"Apologies if this has already been covered, but has anyone else noticed the peculiar presence of all of these mono vinyl boxes in this article on the GZ vinyl pressing plant?"

Unfortunately I won't be here. My son has been left instructions to leave the box unopened until I return.
Oops. Wrong Steve. The official pressing plant is Optimal Media in Germany according to the press releases.

I hope so.I'm still going to wait for the reviews.
Sensible Steve. You'l have to wait a week for me to make the comparison. I am a lot more optimistic with this release than the Stereo Box Set though. Fingers crossed.
Was the Please Please Me a 1N-1N press? If you do buy them take them on approval as many were played with dodgy needles in those days and may sound awful even when looking good.
