Amazon Prime Music

Another streaming service....albeit seemingly one committed to low quality.  I just checked it out. Getting to the music app online is quite confusing. Sounds bad, but a huge selection, and automagically sucked in all of my "auto rip" music from CDs I've bought on amazon.

Seems a serious threat for other mainstream music services - given Amazon TV, Fire and on and on. Amazon can also loose money on anything as long as they make a buck on a customer selling them some other thing.  Will be interesting to see how Apple reacts. I'd like to see them integrate Beats more tightly at CD quality.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Quboz here in the US...

Looks like Amazon is going after mass market with only MP3

I might give them a miss until they go HiRes

Yes. I'm very seriously considering Q, but wouldn't use a low res supplier over Spotify ......although as a LoveFilm, now Amazon Prime, I'm probably covered anyway - just not in the UK, yet.

I'm trying hard to boycott amazon as much as possible - I just don't think Amazon.com's strength is good for the broader economy or for the consumer long term.

In the short term, it's stupid investors (p/e = 500. Seriously?) that are subsidizing the discounts.
