Editing Artist name in Downloads

Posted by: Camlan on 21 June 2014

I have just downloaded an album from classical onto my Unitiserve but the Artist name is showing in NServe as 'unknown'. Anyone know how to edit/add the Artist Name?

I've got the older version of the Unitiserve (1TB) without the possibility to add downloads to the hard drive, so I'm not 100% sure in your case.

But in my case I am only able to change the metadata (eg. Artist name, etc) in nServe on CD's I have ripped on the Unitiserve.

Maybe it's the same in the newer Unitiserve.

Someone with the latest version US can advise I'm sure.

Any downloads I make, I adjust the metadata if necessary using db Poweramp (is well thought of in these circles) before I transfer the downloads over to my NAS.

But there are also many other metadata editors that could be used.

Exact, ir is not possible to manage the tags on the download folder. You have to manage them with another program. On mac Tag app works great also.

A tag editor will do it. It's just a question of which one you prefer. For its range of capabilities including tagging, I like dBpoweramp.

My go-to tag editor that I use with files in my Downloads folder is Tag for OS X.  Very simple, but it just works.
