NDS recognizing UnitiServe

Posted by: Sdan on 22 June 2014

I am having troubles with my NDS finding my UnitiServe. My US is connected via Ethernet to my router. When I select UPnP on the NDS, the NDS will not "find/recognize" the US. The NDS only recognizes my Mac. The only way I have been able to access the US through my NDS is when I connect a cable between the US and the NDS and use the NDS "Digital 1" input.

I am not very adept at computer/technology. Any assistance would be appreciated.

What software are you using -- nStream on an iPhone?  Or are you using the front panel controls on the NDS?

And were these purchased new from an authorized dealer?  Because if so, surely they should be willing to help you out with this.

Tim

How is your UnitiServe connected to the router?  Also ethernet to the same router as the NDS?

Have you had the equipment some time and it has worked fine before?  Or is it new gear and the uPnP connection has never worked?

I have a year old nStream app on the iPad. I have been using the front panel of the NDS.

This is a new NDS purchased from an authorized dealer. The Ethernet is connected from the US to the router. The NDS is picking up the same router

Thanks everyone for the assistance.

As a frist step suggest you switch off the NDS, UnitiServe, and the router.  Then power them back up - router first then wait 5 mins before powering up Unitiserve, wait for that to finish it's power up cycle then power up the NDS.

If that does not fix it, suggest you also download the nServe app from the Apple Store.  You can use this to test that the Serve can be seen on the network.

That's a good first step after restarting everything -- make sure that the UnitiServe can be seen on the network.  n-Serve for OS X should find it; be sure to install that on your Mac.  If n-Serve on the Mac can see it, n-Serve on the iPad should see it.
