Gnasher does it again

3rd. Time. Surely a long ban this time

What are you talking about/referring to? Who the hell is "Gnasher"?

Posted on: 25 June 2014 by hafler3o

A rare species of vampire found in Uruguay.

Gnasher is the pet dog of Dennis the Menace.

Ban him or make him wear a muzzle.

No interest in the 'Beautiful Game' but this was all over the news.

Does he have mental health issues acting like that ?

There should be less tolerance of these overpaid idiots.

Posted on: 25 June 2014 by Bananahead

Surely it's common assault and he should spend some time in a Brazillian prison.

Agreed

I don't follow this game as much as others here do .

Will he get suspended for this gutless act ?

Or is he such a big name player ( i.e. crowd puller) , the powers to be are too scared to do this fearing supporters no show for the next Uraguay game? No player is or should be bigger than the game and all that.

He'll get a move to FC Barcelona. (Just joking Jason)

crackie,

Unless money changes hands, he will be suspended:

Alex Song hit someone in the back and received a 3 match ban. I don't know his disciplinary record, but this is the third bite by Suarez and he has other baggage. There are a maximum of 4 games left, so a tournament ban is likely - if FIFA issue a ban, they won't want him coming back and scoring the winner in the final; it could be extended to 24 matches or 2 years - but then a legal challenge?

Cheers,

OW

We should find what he says in his defence at 21:00 this evening.  Should be entertaining
Posted on: 25 June 2014 by bazz

I liked it when he took a dive for hurting his teeth.

Posted on: 25 June 2014 by OscillateWildly

He did a reverse Kevin Spacey 'The Usual Suspects' after he bit Ivanovic - going into a limp, and claimed to be injured after a jump attack when playing for Ajax. He's good value - also a good player, shame.

I just don't understand the guy. He's a great footballer but you can't use that to justify his antics. If, as I think is likely, Liverpool do sell him, I can't see him changing as this just seems to be ingrained in his nature.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will be having second thoughts on signing him for sure and Adidas are discussing their sponsorship deal. If proved guilty, and the evidence seems to be pretty clear, justice will only be served if he has to serve a lengthy ban from all football.

Wat

And there's me thinking Norman "bite's your legs" Hunter was just a nick name? You're not Uruagian or a Liverpool supporter by any chance?

Must be Ipswich? Not such hard times as a certain team not far from me though.

I fear that the draw of money will overcome justice in this case so I expect FIFA to administer a fairly weak slap on the wrist and any ban will not extend to club football.

If Liverpool FC place a high priority on the image and integrity of the club they will get shot of him fast. But given the tolerance the club has shown in the past on his previous biting offence, and the earlier racism one, I won't be surprised if they put an arm round his shoulders and say it's all an injustice perpetrated by those jealous of his talents.

On the other hand LFC and the player himself might do well to ponder the likely reaction to him in grounds around the country next season. He will likely be vilified at a level that makes the stick he has experienced previously seem like gentle ribbing!

Less tolerance? How about we just ignore them altogether. They'll go away then.

Cheers OW,

I know in AFL (Aussie Rules Football) this guy would be sitting out the next 4 weeks + guaranteed. Unless it was say a Grand Final game for example (this has been done before for striking another player) & a legal challange was initiated through the Court system. Ah yes the good old legal challange - it does nothing really - except put the ban on hold untill the case is heard in court. Which is the whole point I suppose for the player involved.

Millions of people watch this stupid game winky. They live for it, die for it, pay a few dickheads millions of £££ each year to play in front of them. These people won't ignore the players or the game.

It would be a lot better IMHO if people played the game themselves on a Saturday afternoon, rather than watch a few prima-donnas each week. But that ain't gonna happen either.

You're spot on. It's sad but true....

Chaps

This is the third time he has done this and frankly he is now past the warning stage.

He needs to be banned for life, just to protect other players. They should not have to go on a field knowing that they could be attacked by him. That is not what sport is about.

Also he should be subject to criminal prosecution for assault.

Regards

Mick

It looked faked to me the teeth marks were the wrong way round. Also Suarez is not a rascist and does not dive and cheat.
