Remember that we have them because we work with them - my HDX / NDX and DAC are always running new bits of code that we then (ab)use and work with as our own day-to-day listening.

What kind of software can be used to control it? Is it the same like they use for the unitiqute? nStream?

Or does it have it's own? (which?? ) Is it stable?

We have received a small quantity in Canada last week. More are due next week or so.

NDX works with N-Stream.
I have got a pre production unit for 3 months. Even if it was not the final software nor maybe hardware, it was very stable. Production units are said to be by far superior...
I will open one box tomorrow...

With naim support I am fine with first version of most. What would hold me back is airplay. I hope it's not another £500 and return to factory for unknown number of weeks deal. That is what really holding me back...

Is there any other control sw supported (plug player, chorus, songbook etc)?

Thanks!

It is not the support but the faffing with updates to bring an item up to the originally envisioned spec - for example with the Uniti it took over a year to bring it up to its current level - with the nlink fiasco.

The annoncement that there will be an "announcement" (they didn't say yes or no) regarding airplay changes everything in some ways ... why the end of the year? Are they waiting to see what happens to airplay?

Tog, Don't be so harsh. The announcement here that there is an announcement was good to keep us on the forum updated. Perhaps you can speculate that the announcement was meant to keep us from going to competitors, but I don't see ppl contemplating black boxes would go to maranta or denon for their airplay support now. So on balance I think he was just satisfying our curiosity and should be encouraged not bashed. As for the uniti, I agree they could have handled it much better. It is a case that a company building products lasting decades trying to cope with technology market that move in months I guess.

Last year there were only 5 AirPlay licenses issued by Apple, you see who has it now, but this year there will be many more, but only after September.

I personally would like to see AirPlay on the Naim Streaming devices as I believe it will open up even wider market share for us with MAC users.

AirPlay is coming and it is here to stay!

I agree with Ihau on this, Naim had been getting quite a bit of stick on the old forum for not communicating their future plans or product strategy enough. The fact that information is shared here now at such an early stage ought to be welcomed. I find it quite amazing anyway for the CEO of a company to contribute on the forum, that alone shows some real commitment to its customers and a high level of customer orientated thinking. Maybe that's just Naim with all its history or it's a sign of the times but how many other companies do this? I don't know because I don't spend time on other forums but I think credit is due were it's due...
