Pacific Earthquake & Tsunami

Posted by: Mike-B on 11 March 2011

I guess we have all seen the news today about the devastating earthquake & tsunami.
The TV pictures of the tsunami were nothing short of shocking.  I dread to think how the people on the low lying pacific islands must be feeling right now.

Our thoughts are with all people affected & we have to hope that all of our Naim forum friends in the whole region are OK.

Without overloading this thread with heartfelt thoughts & condolences,  can we leave it open to our friends to post their experiences & news of how they are coping.

I didn't see it until Friday AM it's the second time I've extensively researched on BBC web site.  Very sad and devastating to so many cities and people.  I'm very impressed at the news and short videos on the site.

Shocking picture from Japan, fortunately all my employees and friends in the Tokyo area are safe but many where not able to get home due to the breakdown in transportation.

The situation around the one nuclear power plant that had cooling issues seems to be resolved as well.

Yes, that looks like being a nasty one. Already the third-worst nuclear accident in history, behind Chernobyl and Three Mile Island, with the potential to be worse than both.

I didn't know it blew. I'll have to check it out.  That's just terrible news.

The core hasn't blown.

It's the concrete housing surrounding blew. ( so far  as of 3/13 4:00 am according to the Japanese government released document )
