DAC & 555PS

I'm going to experiment with DACs. I have the Naim DAC, but also a Weiss DAC202. With regard to the 555PS, will connecting it to my HDX accomplish anything, given that I'll be connecting the HDX digital out to the Weiss DAC? I seem to recall that some of the circuitry in the HDX is bypassed when hooked up to the DAC - does that include circuitry powered by the 555PS? Or would that mean I would have no use for the power supply?

You should connect the 555PS to the Naim DAC if you are planning to use the Naim DAC with your HDX.
The Naim DAC with 555PS is quite superb.
However, if you plan to use the Weiss DAC then I don't believe there is any real value in the 555PS. It would not really do much that the HDX internal PS wasn't capable of doing, but try it if you can.

External PSU on HDX powers analogue cicuits, so of no use if you use digital output to a DAC.
