Crowdfunding

Any of you financial whizzkids watch the article on TV yesterday where small firms needing to raise cash for expansion get loads of individuals to pledge small amounts of cash anything from £10 upwards. The idea being if large enough numbers chip in a few quid, they can raise enough money to move their company on,and investors with luck get a small return.

Looks interesting to me,wouldn`t mind having a punt myself.

I rently suggested to a friend that she should suggest to her daughter, who wants a boob job, to try crowdfunding it. Charges everyone £10 each for before and after photos.

Strangely, I was approached just this morning by a crowd-funding financing firm to discuss working together on potential deals in the minerals-industry. The amounts are very small ($2m to $5m) in comparison to the finance deals we usually advise on, but you never know where it might lead.
