Monty Python at the O2

Was anybody there? I watched it on Gold and they almost ruined the first half by excessive bleeping and even removing entire sequences. Why didn't they just hold it back until 9pm and then show it properly? The whole thing is being shown on Tuesday, totally uncensored.

Anyway, apart from that, I really enjoyed it. The usual mixture of genius with a bit of dross thrown in (I never did like the animated scenes). A few of my favourites weren't there, for example Cat Licence which segues beautifully into Eric the Half a Bee, but overall I found it a very enjoyable greatest hits show. IMHO Cat Licence is superior to Dead Parrot but maybe I'm in the minority there.

Roll on 9pm on Tuesday so I can see what I missed.

Thanks for the tip on the non-censored version Tom. I did record it last night but won't bother wading through a bleeped-out version. It is a bit daft doing that with a Python show, isn't it?

Fortunately my recording failed due to clash so I am recording the repeat, hopefully without the bleeps.

They are very naughty boys.

Went on the opening night which was a little creaky as they all relaxed but absolutely enjoyable, very much so. My only complaint was that they quite rightly  used a good number of Gilliam's cartoons directly from the tele shows but the sound was awful. Of course they missed a couple of my favourites but included many many others. Huge fun and very glad I went.

I went and enjoyed it. Most of the stuff was obviously old, so I didn't howl out with laughter, but a great night out.

The sound throughout the event was terrible. It needed turning up a lot. Either that or I'm getting old.
