limited availabilty of hi-res downloads in Canada

Posted by: playmookie27 on 07 August 2014

I'm having trouble finding sites that will allow downloads of certain hi-res ( 24/96, 24/192) titles, because I live in Canada. Sites such as HDTracks and Linn. I'm trying to find enough titles to justify the purchase of a SuperUnity to my significant other. Any Canadian sites out there?

Disguise your IP address. There are a number of software programmes out there to do this.

I did that with Spotify and it worked well for a while. They then decided  I was a UK resident on vacation and only allowed me 14 days of service unless I upgrade(pay).

Prostudiomasters has a growing selection. Qobuz will give you access if you email their customer service.

Both HDTracks and Acoustic Sounds - High Rez have been serving the Canadian market for at least a year now.

I don't think HiRes should be the main reason for getting a Superuniti.

If you are saying that Spotify would like you to pay for their premium service then pay (although, I didn't think they had launched in Canad yet).

HDTracks does serve the Canadian market, but many of the titles, such Rolling Stones Abko series is 'unavailable in your region'. I would estimate  that applies to at least half of the hi-res titles.

Quobuz seems promising and as to Spotify, yes I should pay when they launch in the Great Dominions.

If hi-res isn't the main reason for the SuperUniti what is? I could also go Supernait 2, hi-cap instead.
