UnitiServe 2TB

Hi been running a new UnitiServe for about 8 months now and still having problems with metadata. I buy most of my music in hi res from HD Tracks, often the data isn't to Naim's liking. I've deleted the downloads via my Mac (as it seems you can't from the n-Serve app) and fixing the issue then reload it, but it's still remains the same.

I'm a big fan of Naim and can't really see myself buying anything else, however I do wish their OS was more user friendly. The problem of editing data both ripped and in the download files is way to hard.

Anyway if any one has some tips I would welcome your advice, it maybe as sample as user error as well. Thanks.

What exactly is the issue? I've only downloaded a few things, and the only issue I've had is not being able to edit the genre, which is something that really doesn't bother me, as I can find the albums by artist or title.

Pete in fairness if when reloading its the same, you never fixed the issue.

its a little unfair blaming naim here its either well tagged or not. If its not well tagged it will appear to all dnla/computers the same.

Pete what are you using to edit the tags?  Something is amiss, as this all works just fine when the tags are right.

There are several tag (metadata) editors for OS X.  I find the absolute simplest one to be a little program just called Tag.  Metadatics is also good, but more powerful and way more complicated a user interface.

The trick is to edit the tags on your Mac BEFORE copying the files over to the uServe.  But even if you get them on the uServe and see that some metadata is not right, you can edit the files on the uServe and when it rescans itself it will pick up the changes.

Try Picard - works very well

I'm not sure if Pete's problem is the metadata editing, or something more basic.
