AFAIK, there is no need to subscribe to a streaming package  to be able to download.

Great that you can now pay by Visa or MasterCard now rather through PayPal only which was previously the case.

I also really like the fact you can download in AIFF (which saves me time in transcoding from FLAC to AIFF, which something I have to do in many other sites).

The Led Zep Studio Masters tracks sound amazing to me.

Must see whether the discount code is reusable until the expiry date.

Been away for a while so have only just spotted this thread.

I have been registered with Qobuz for some time and have downloaded quite a few albums from their French site, but haven't received an e-mail with a discount code.

Does anyone know if a separate registration is required on the Qobuz UK site to register for downloads an (hopefully) receive a 1st order promo code?

Thanks.

I'm in the same position as you but got the discount code. I suggest you contact Qobuz customer service who are, in my experience, pretty good.

And whilst I'm here, just to repeat, the discount code is not reusable, it's one order.

That's helpful, thanks.

May I recommend the Naxos Studio Master recording of Haydn's Creation? Don't know what it costs on the UK site, but I paid €8.99 on French one. First class performance and sound.

Thanks for the replies. Following an email to the Qobuz customer support team, my discount code has arrived. These guys are certainly efficient.

Now to decide just what to download. This is going to be fun!

You can apply it to the whole of your shopping basket, so load it up :-()

No response for me from CS - still hope they will get back with a code, I have been a good customer so far.

Emailed Qobuz yesterday and just received my discount code which is valid until 31st. Aug.

Some Qobuz downloads say 'includes 1 digital booklet'. Does anyone know what this means, please?

Posted on: 27 August 2014 by AndyPat

David,

It's an electronic version of the little 'booklet' that normally sits just inside the CD case.

It means that what you have purchased includes the booklet that comes with the CD, but in digital form (Usually PDF). So, once downloaded, it can be read on a laptop, iPad or whatever. For classical works involving texts and translations, this is pretty important - and if not provided would be a good reason not to buy a download. Incidentally, most Qobuz streaming albums also come with their booklet.

Thanks,

Does it download automatically, and how is it subsequently to be read? I usually copy the download to a NAS, which is set up as a music store for my US. Can I read the booklet in Nserve? .....or what?....

Used my code earlier to purchase a 24 bit copy of Farewell to Kings,  pretty easy process

I sent a complaint after the glitches of last weekend. They sent an e-mail today apologising & saying it's been been fixed.  So happy to hear the fix has worked.

I don't have any albums in mind at the mo, but will try them again next time.

If you're using an iPad, you will normally want to read the booklet in iBooks. I use nstream rather than nServe, and you certainly can't read it in that. The booklet may form part of the music download, or it may be a small and easy separate download - either way it just needs copy'n'pasting to where you want to read it.

OK. Thanks

Hi,

Just attempted to checkout with a rather large basket, but with a problem.

The checkout page is in French, but I think I applied my code in the right place. However, my promotion code didn't seem to apply the expected discount. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

I have contacted Qobuz for advice, so will hopefully get a reply within the next 24 hours.

Qobuz are very quick to respond to queries.

I understood from a previous post that the maximum value of the discount is £240. However, Qobuz have informed me that the maximum order (to which a discount can be applied) is 300 Euros (or circa £240).

I guess I'll just need to cut my basket a little bit.

Sorry I can't help, but from what I read here, it does seem that some people for some reason have had a similar problem. The good news is that Qobuz seem to have sorted out any problems quickly. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to use the discount code and download earlier today. Hope they solve your problem soon.

Take notice you can also apply it on pre-orders of releases that are still to come.

The latest Stefano Bollani in Highres at ECM will appear on September 8 and my code is only valid till August 31, but was applied on my purchase of this specific album.

you will get a notification once it is available for download.

Hi All

.....well ive got my basket up to about £130 so another £110 to go. Any recommedations for particularly good remasters? For calibration the first items into my basket were the complete Doors, Goldfrapp, some Santana and Mike Oldfield.

I was quite tempted by the Karajan Beethoven symphonies

i'm slightly despondent as a fan of electronic music that i barely recognise anything in that section - no early kraftwerk, t dream, schulze etc......doh! Can someone educate this old git as to what i should be listening to?

On the upside my offer runs until the end of September so i suppose i could use the "listen" option.

Things are looking a bit rocky for Qobuz - according to Audiostream they've just filed for the equivalent of chapter 11 protection. Seemingly they have four months to raise the money they need to keep operating. google qobuz chapter 11 for more.

Depends what you like, the studio master Rush albums are pretty good, Led zep too and the 24 bit Marillion albums are superb
