In fairness, the iphone 6 has only just been released onto the market and presumably most owners are going through their initial 'protective care' phase before reverting to the normal bang crash wallop phase of ownership! In other words, if there is a structural problem, it will become much better understood in a month or two's time when people are a bit less fussy about how they carry them.
I'm a bit out of touch on phone tariffs and checked out if I can upgrade my iphone 5 as my contract expires early in October. I am indeed entitled to upgrade to the 6 but my goodness, the tariffs are now all about data and it seems that average monthly costs on offer have increased significantly from two years ago when I was looking at the offers on the then new 5. I was rather astounded at a work colleague yesterday coming into the office with a new 6. Bearing in mind that she already has a smartphone provided by work, I nearly fell over when she declared a monthly cost of nearly £55. All seems a bit bizarre to me for what will be a second phone!
I suspect the bend it like Beckham issue may run for some time to come...
