Really like it. Looks lovely on my iPad. Well done Naim.

Tip for the confused on first use: you need to set up a "room" before you'll see your streamer appear..

It's an original NU, which was later fitted with the 24/192 board offered to existing customers as an option, and has had firmware upgrades as and when they were available: it's currently running 3.09.00, worked perfectly well with n-Stream, and now works fine with both versions of the Naim app.

AFAIK the change of board shouldn't have any effect on this app functionality: the original press release about the 24/192 upgrade merely said that:

"All Naim streaming products are now available with high resolution 24bit/192kHz streaming.

The updated streaming board also facilitates streaming of Apple Lossless (ALAC) files up to 24Bit/96kHz and updates wireless connectivity to IEEE 802.11n (2.4GHz)."

However, of course I don't have a 'straight from the factory' 2009 NU to check: I'd suggest you contact your dealer or the factory if you have any doubts.

I secon the first option. In styles the naim green color back that is.

Quite a radical new look but I really like it; especially being able to toggle between album views I.e list/small/large album art icons.

Also they've fixed the eponymous track name issue so now I don't have to have a track title of Bl@ck Sabbath to get it to show up on the list of album tracks.

Hi,
I now have on my iphone, not sure if I am a fan yet.
I have 3 initial questions.
1- what is the input trim option for ?.
2-what is the streamer language option for ?.
3- where has my information regarding file format gone including the buffer info.

At the moment it's not really an issue since my 5 and half year old phone can only operate iOS 4.2 so the new app wouldn't be available to me anyhow. However, the phone is finally showing first signs of aging and I was planning to replacing it but now that can wait. It's more the principle that disappoints me...

Using it now on my iPhone 4 with my (non-upgraded) UQ1. Works just fine, like the new look. But where's the clear cache command? And now I can't seem to get back to the album list. Hmmm, probably going to have to get an iPad that uses 7.

So glad it now displays artist along with title. Makes compilations much more fun to play.

Working fine here with my 'old' NDX which still has the 24/96 board fitted.

Only gripe so far is that I would like to have the volume control showing al the time, rather than having to click on the bottom bar to bring up the play queue.

Looks very pro and  slick unlike previous one. Some minor issues navigating uPnP on iPad 3 but iPhone 5 seems fine. It crashed a couple of times but I'm sure it will be fine once stabilised.

A well done job guys and well worth the wait!

Clear cache is under settings, input settings, upnp

2. Same as it did in n-Stream

3. It is still there.  On the screen showing the currently playing track, tap on the book icon, bottom left.

I Can"t pick a single number out of an album. It plays all the songs on the album.

If you navigate to 'Other Settings' there are options to reset streamer and reset app which I'd guess correspond to the clear cache and clear artwork functions.

Why on earth i cannot mute or change a volume level without tapping 'now playing' window? Why progress bar or at least current track time is not shown All the time? Yes, the GUI is moder and fancy but lacks basic usability and appears to be targeting people who like to tap. And where is the GREEN theme colour.....

A couple of questions that I would be grateful is anyone could answer;

1. Not all, in fact a very long way from all, of my music is currently showing.  Does it take time for it to build up its database?

2. I am not seeing any album art at all, again, does it take time for this to show up?

I'm using the same upnp software on the same server as usual, the only change is the software

Its very different at the moment and will take some time to get used but then you would expect that.

Just downloaded the new app for my Superuniti-system (shame to read that folks who bought Naim-stuff 3 years ago are not able to control their gear. Is it really true?)

The apps looks nice and neat. First impression is that the miniature-album-covers are faster interpreted/displayed.

Design-flaw: the volume cannot be controlled from everywhere in the app. In the former version there was a volume control-slider in the top of the screen. Very practical when browsing around in the app e.g.:

- scrolling through covers

- reading the Rovi-booklet

- switching UPnp-servers

There is place in the top and bottom of the screen to build-in a slider...... Can't be difficult.....

I'll play around a couple of days and will then make again notice of my findings.

For now, thank you Naim for keeping up the updating and improving. That's also why I bought Naim!

Has anyone tried Playlists, created in n-Stream. Mine are not working, with the comments that 'tracks are not found'.

I hope you don't have to re-create all existing Playlists in the new App.

Very nice, thanks Naim.

The defects have already been mentioned:

-  the volume control used to be available wherever you were in the app;

-  the file format has gone;

-  the colour choice is jolly, but why not green???

-  it all goes a bit black when you playing stuff.

What does the star icon do on the radio paradise screen where you can see the track name?

Also where is the bit rate info for the radio stations?

thanks!

Note to Paragonista - can you change your awful avatar please?

Question for others - I thought this would replace nServe for editing metadata, downloading art etc. Does it do this, because for the life of me I can't find it?

Posted on: 22 September 2014 by Foxman50

It no longer shows file format or resolution. Like

Wav 24/96

Can anyone see it

Posted on: 22 September 2014 by Foxman50

Can i go back to ver3.6

Posted on: 22 September 2014 by simes_pep

On the iPhone version (iPhone 5s running iOS 8) how do you access the Playlists. I can only see the Playlists.

Where is the Format information, when a track is playing. I hope this is still presented.

If existing Playlists can't be played, or accessed from the iPhone version, and the file format information is not displayed, how can you go back the n-Stream app?

Simon.

Just tried the new app, nice details, but when using iradio, the screen keeps hunting across location screens or across naim preset screens, will not stay on same page to select a station or a country
