it's good to have my m3u playlists back but getting them to play in the right order is a bit of a faff. if you open a playlist and choose "Play Now" the tracks play in the wrong order. To get them to play in the playlist order you have to choose "Queue Next" and then tap the play arrow at the bottom of the screen to get them to start playing.

Even weirder, If I tap on an album icon and select "play now" the album starts to play from Track 2 and relegates Track 1 to the end of the play queue. It looks like I have to select "queue next" and then play to get albums to play in the correct order.

this is just silly.

Has anyone else had these issues?

@sjbabbey

Yep, does that for me too. I tap on play now for an album and it starts at track 2.

I'm using a UQ and Synology DSM.

@Solid Air

Am using Asset UPnP on my QNAP NAS so it's not a NAS or UPnP specific issue.

I think it is the same behaviour as the playlist issue which I originally thought was the app playing the tracks in alpha order but that wasn't the case.

Am also having an issue with the 3 dots option control randomly disappearing from the top right of the play queue screen but they reappear if I leave that screen and go back in again.

Will drop an email to tech support.

And there is the long-awaited version 4.1 . Works OK, indeed the file information is now always visible (filetype and bitrate)

But to my deep disappointment, my dozens of existing playlists STILL do not play..... red crosses are shown behind each song..... what happened? I will contact Naim support directly and see if they can fix this. Recreating them manually will take me days and days of toggling...

Same for me: if I play an album by pressing the 3 dots and then 'play now', it starts with track 2, and track 1 is put at the end of the waitlist. Using NAC-N172XS, firmware 3.22, iOS 8.0.2 and Synology DSM 5.0

Funny bug!

I dont have that problem -- tapping the track and it plays from that track onwards.

My problem is playlist -- like Bert, the playlist I created in N-Stream cannot be accessed.  Just the message that tracks are unavailable as they cannot be located on the server.

Strange, this works fine for me.

I have the same problem as Bart. I play from the three buttons on the corner and it starts at track 2 :-(

Ironically, playlists created on NDS are fine. It's albums ripped on the Unitiserve that are the problem!

I may start a thread asking for 4.0 back!

Presumably, this is the UPNP server's fault because the stream can only play what it presents???!!!

Posted on: 07 October 2014 by KRM

....but if I hit the first track, it adds the whole album in the right order, I think. Phew!

I have the 'album starts from track 2' issue

Seeing this long list of replies, the App is definitely an integral part of the products sold by Naim. Hopefully the Naim app will continue to improve to be worthy of the Naim sound.

How about acquiring that little guy called SONOS?

The v4.1 has solved my issue of playlists created on an older iOS device using n-Stream not working on a new device on the new app, thanks. Everything else seems improved and more stable.

I too am getting the album starting at track 2 issue. Easy to get around and surely a simple fix in the next update?

Any idea on when there will be an update for the android version?

Posted on: 08 October 2014 by sjbabbey

Have had a prompt response from Phil H to say that the software guys will be working on the Track 2 issue.

Have reported a new issue to tech support.

Using ipad 2 and when I open the Rovi virtual CD booklet, if I click on the "Not this album" the dialog box opens but is too small in height and it's not possible to see the existing title or to edit it (the ipad keyboard does not open).

One of the problems I find is when trying to tap the three dots you can often accidentally tap the track text as the tappable area extends to the far right of the display. Either the three dots need to be made larger or the track should only be selected if you tap the text and not the whole row it is in.

A good compromise might be something like play track, play from this track, add to queue, add to playlist. I'm scratching my head here but I'm sure I've seen functionality like this or close to it before. Can't remember where.... I have vague recollections of a volume control and battery indicator too, but I was probably dreaming.

Same here

Hi Guys,

Can you contact me directly and send me:

1) An example of a couple of playlists that are causing problems.

2) A freshly created playlist that works OK for you and that includes a few tracks that also exist in the broken playlist(s).

Thanks

Phil

This also affects the Rovi search function meaning that it is unusable on my ipad.
