New Naim app: where is shuffle?

Posted by: charlesphoto on 24 September 2014

The one feature I was really looking forward to......

Posted on: 24 September 2014 by Chris Bell

Shuffle is in the playbar, to the left of the play button.

Hmmm, not on my iPhone, or I'm looking in the wrong place.

I can't find it either, neither on my iPhone (4) or more recent iPod (touch).

And why won't the screen rotate?

Help - what am I doing wrong ...?

Thanks Chris. That option, or the skip icon, doesn't appear on the iPhone. Will wait and see if it does on the Android version I'm hoping will work on my nook.

And is that random for the whole lot, or for just a limited playlist?

You can enable shuffle once your playlist has started.  I'll have to experiment how to shuffle my entire catalog.

Hi,
It's very confusing as the iphone, ipod looks different to the ipad.
Ok shuffle and continuous loop of selected tracks for iphone(mine is a 5)
When you are on the now playing or play queue screen tap the 3 dots on the top right.the icons are in the drop down box.

You can only shuffle your entire catalog by pressing "play" on the remote control at the "albums" / "items" / "artists" level of UPNP browsing. If you use the app, it builds an "instant playlist" of the first 500 items and plays from that. If you drill down further (eg to "date" or "genre") where you have fewer than 500 tracks, functionality is equivalent for remote and app.

This was also true in nStream, although I have a vague recollection that the limit used to be 250 tracks...

Ah ... for me those three dots don't call anything up on my iphone 4 and ipod (touch)

Correction ... I can now use my iPod (touch) to use shuffle on multiroom.  iPhone 4 still not responding ...

Hi Stephen,

yup, you are right 3.5" inch devices (iPhone 4/4s) seem to have a problem calling up the options menu on the now playing screen. Will look at it
