UPnP problems with NAC172XS/Logitech MediaServer. Help appreciated.

Hi,

it's probably been covered many times already, but: I have demoed the NAC 172XS at home. I have Logitech Media Server installed on my MacBookPro to reply some music via a Squeezebox into my AV2. The SB obviously sees and plays everything perfectly, but the 172XS only played the FLAC files but refused to play the AACs. It saw everything, but declared 'unable to replay the file' when I selected some AAC from my iTunes library. I am not the first person who meets this problem (a friend of mine has solved it buying a SBT), but just out of curiosity, could it be a problem with the UPnP server from Logitech or what?

Does anybody know of a safe and simple UPnP client for Mac which is not also a full media player or the sort, something like the invisible, unobtrusive Logitech MediaServer but which works?

Thanks

Max

I have Minimserver both on MacBook Pro and iMac. It has always been easy to operate and proved quite stable. I suppose it is one of the better ones available that just gets out of the way.

If I decide to go further along the streaming path I'll try some solutions, but I still find a sort of skin resistance to the whole matter. I have tried, more than once, but the thing still seems to me vague and unreliable, plus it requires continuously googling words and acronyms and learning something that you though had nothing to do with music at home..

Hi, Max.

I never got LMS on Mac to work at all other than with Squeezebox Touch; but I never tried FLAC.

I run Minimserver concurrently with no problems.
