New app update

See Toms note above for what is in the release.
Will read it properly later as I am out on the road. Can't see a mention of spotify ect though but may have missed it
I used the app for several hours yesterday and again this morning and have had no problems whatsoever. It works very slickly and I like the new look. Congratulations to the team for making so many improvements/fixes in such a short time. To be able to do this you must obviously have a very solid platform to work on which is reassuring for the future.
All we need now is integration with a few music services like Qobuz, WiMP (TIDAL) and Spotify and it would be a truly excellent solution.

Spotify is not in it - and was not expected to be either. That is (at least) a streamer firmware update, and I don't think anybody from Naim has actually confirmed that this is coming (though we are all assuming it is!).

Why are you congratulating for something that should have been correct at release 1. Also i hardly think 2.5 weeks is exactly quick to fix these faults. Added to that the app is still faulty as can be seen from the recent posts.
Congratulations my posterior, Poor very poor. But only my opinion of course.

You're correct, of course, that the more obvious bugs shouldn't have been there in the first release. I can only assume that they were working to a tight time schedule. However, I think that Naim reacted extremely quickly to fix the bugs and add features. I understand that it can take 11 days from an app being submitted to Apple to it appearing on the store so the time actually taken to implement the fixes was not long at all.
Software is never perfect. I've been playing with some other control point apps recently and think that the Naim app is significantly better than most of them.

Indeed. The first iteration should not have been released and it took a long time to fix. The second iteration, apart from bitrate showing doesn't address any of the missing features the new app lacks compared to its predecessor. So, accepting that operational stability must be paramount, we've now progressed as far as one step backward.
Sure it looks cool. I like how it looks. But so what? Marketing over engineering? Surely never from Naim!

+1. Except for some minor issues with the "Not this album" function, much improved over 1st version.

Working much better. For some reason I needed to reboot Asset UPNP on the WHS to make it work. Anyway, playlists by and large work. A few dropped tracks but that is in the normal range.
I also have the weird start from track 2 issue, when selecting an album. The workaround of actually clicking on the first track of the album is fine.
Thanks to the dev team at Naim. For a major release, this was pretty good.
Playlists still don't appear to be working for me, I get s 75 tracks were added message but when I try to play it says no track playing and then crashes
I like the new app, I prefer it, but:
- It should have been advetised as a beta because that's what it is;
- They should have left the old app in the app store for a few weeks.
This would have made no difference to me - I would be using the new version because I like it and it works ok...ish here, but the fact remains that it's buggy - unusably so for quite a few regulars here.
Oh, and while I'm on my soap box:
- Let's have a colour scheme that goes with products other than Mu-so and Statement. I understand that the Marketing Director wants to look to the future, but this app is desgned to look right for the Lifestylers and Oligarchs. Screw existing customers who have bought and continue to buy black and green stuff. I accept that Naim doesn't intend to disrespect it's current customer base, but that's the result of the style choices.
Then again, perhaps I should get a grip, and worry about stuff that actually matters?

Yes, I've reported the problem to tech support earlier today (See the earlier new app thread). It also happens if you tap on an album and select "play now". Suggest you select "queue next" and play the playlist from the play queue by tapping on the first track title.
