naim app fails constant

hello everyone,
I have a dramatic experience with the new naim app. it stops working time after time. It keeps comming up with a screen "rooms" and a startup for multi room. I do not have any multiroom stuff just one nd5xs.
With the previous nstream app this worked really well!! Now with the new app, it is very bad.
I use a sygnology NAS, the ND5XS with the latest firmware 3.22 UPnP connection. I keep on restarting the ND5XS and / or the network server. Afterwards it works for several songs, and agian it fails. It looks like the app does not want to work with my NAS. The connection on the ND5XS with the server is okay, via the display I controle without any problem.
What is changed in the new app, am I doing something wrong?

Phil contacted me as well and we are in contact.
First approach : put the app in compatibility mode. This seems to work although you loose functionality.
Apparently Phil knows which button on dashboard to turn.
Next step should be the final solution with restored functions. Keep you posted when new steps become available.

Now the app can´t "find" the UQ2 and even if I try to add it manually it can't find it. UQ2 runs fine and plays music from my NAS, using the remote but app does not work on iPad and iPhone.
Have restarted EVERYTHING multiple times.
Anyone had similar issues = everything running well until today?
What iOS are you using or android?

I am using IOS 8.0.2 on an iPad . Also an iPhone 6 with same IOS is used giving the same results.

Can't say for sure - we are working on various issues as we launched the app at the same time as the iOS upgrade.

Cp62 isn't your problem related to your netgear router and you are waiting for a replacement?

I had the same problem and it's due to iOS8.2. Go to Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services and turn off Wifi Networking. It worked for me.

Thanks for your suggestion in this matter! Yesterday evening I did exactly what you said helped for you in IOS8,2.
I added the next steps:
- erase existing wifi connection from my device iPad / iPhone
- changed the setting as you discribed
- restart the iPad completely (make sure the new setting becomes effective)
- made a new connection to the router.
Result : no change at all. The NAS can not be found, the app keeps searching endlessly.
As soon as I change the app settings for UPnP to compatibility mode; the NAS is detected immediatly and works.
I am not an expert in this field, but to me this proves that the app and not IOS is the cause, don't you agree?

That's odd. I hope you find a solution soon. One thing I did was to load the app on my wife's iPad which was running iOS8.1 and it worked fine. I then deleted the app on my iPad and reloaded it with the change of settings above. It's worked fine since.
I am having a number of issues also, my unitii2 is returning triple names for all songs and actually playing each song 3x. Not sure what I have to do to reset this. Have also had trouble with the new app just not finding songs on my PC that I have ripped recently.

I have exactly the same problem, worked until today. Today it seeing my NDS but searches endlessly until it says that another app is already connected to the device or that the device cannot be found. I am on iOS 8.0.2, nStream 4.1 and NDS Firmware 3.22. I am back to the Remote Control.....and wait until iOS 8.1 on Oct 20th. If things do not change by then, I will get in touch with Naim Support again. It's getting on my nerves: How can someone spend like 15k on equipment and not get a proper software along with that....

I think iOS 8 is the culprit. Though all works fine for me with iOS 8 other apps I have crash since the iOS update.

Have a ND5 XS upgraded to 3.22 firmware.
With my IPhone 6 everything works flawlessly but with my IPad Air upgraded to Io's 8 (by formatting the whole IPad from 0) every time that I I go back to the Naim app I have to turn off and on again the app because it freezes (it isn't able to go again on the playlist).
Hope new version will be more stable !

I have now found the settings, but to get there you need to have a connection to the streamer. I didn't even have this, so no settings:-((
Now - as I have installed iOS 8.1 last night - everything is working again. At least I now had two consistent connects to the streamer. Let's see whether this state is sustainable.
Obviously the state is not sustainable. 4th test with iOS8.1 was negative. I can sometimes connect to the streamer but it loses connection again within less than a minute. I can start a radio stream and then nStream comes back with "Cannot connect to the streamer. Options: OK or want to try again?". The sign I can see most of the times ist the turning ring doing something I cannot sort out. Am I the only one with this kind of problems? Cannot imagine....neither can I remember having signed up for the beta testing program....
Is there a debug mode for the app to at least find out what it's trying to do? The app is really turning the hardware equipment useless at the moment, so please Naim get this sorted out quickly. Thanks.

for your assurance, No you are not the only one. Here I still have the same problem. After resetting everything it works for some minutes and then I loose connection. As I started this thread : drama all over.
I talked to my dealer who will contact the importer for Holland to get some help.
I will post any results here.

I have installed the DS audio app from sygnology and it all works flawless.
The NAS is recognized and can I play it all on my ND5XS.
It now really becomes time that NAIM starts to solves this I do agree with you.
The Muso has been introduced, so now get back to solve the app please!

My problem seems to be resolved - for at least 2 days in a row now. Strangely I do not know exactly where the problem came from. I reset the network settings on my iOS devices and attached the NDS directly to the WLAN router in wired mode. Get in contact with Tom Johnson of Naim if the problem still consists. There is a tool called NetAPIIA which is able to debug the communication on a protocol level between your UPnP Server and your Naim equipment (fiddling around yourself is inefficient). I am on a all Mac environment and to be honest I am not sure whether the fault is caused by Apple's iOS or by Naim's app. The combination however does not seem to be very synergetic.
