Any Mac users that have upgraded care to offer an opinion?

Hi Steve,

Having upgraded my 2008 iMac with 'Yosemite' I wasn't listening for any changes but my AIFF ripped CD's sound obviously better to me. A friend who understands these things informs that there are no core-audio changes with Yosemite and I'm hearing a new OS swept-out Mac, and a CPU running more efficiently.

I got hacked-off with all those tweaky music 'enhancing' apps, and am running straight iTunes.

It most definitely sounds better to me. What say you good people?

John,

In Yosemite, there are changes and additions to the audio and video (AV) framework.

So, it is entirely possible that playing directly from iTunes result in better/different SQ than before.

The changes are highlighted here - https://developer.apple.com/li...les/MacOSX10_10.html

Hence the reasoning in my first post.

I have changed to Yosemite, and unmodified iTunes [of the latest variant downloaded at the same time] certainly seems slightly clearer, and every bit as enjoyable as previously.

Subtle, and possibly imagined improvement, but certainly no step back in any case ...
