Anyone notice any improvements operating NStream?

First thing I noticed was its seems a bit faster with screen changes

But for some reason I have not found that many problems with the app over the last days,  no more missing the first track etc... & its worked perfectly OK - provided you know the way around the navigation routes & how to avoid the bugs.

I had a stress & trouble free 4 hours listening last evening,  4 albums plus some experimenting. No missing 1st tracks, queued OK, scrolling was noticeably smooth as was screen/page changing.

Some of the search by artist etc was a bit iffy but its 100% correct in view by folder & is now much like it was with the old nStream, (the problem could be in my metadata)

Hope it will speed up my iPad 2 because since the update to IOS 8, it's so slow, it's almost useless...

"Play now" still skips the first track for me, using 8.1

 

Michel, as operating systems progress, the older machines tend to perform slower and slower.  The systems are bigger, use more memory, etc etc.  I hope for the best for you, but the iPad 2 probably shows its age on iOS 8.

To be honest, I can't see any difference and it still starts on 2nd track unless you work around it........

My ipad 2 doesn't get along with ios 8 I wish I had kep the old version running.

Me too how I wished I'd never loaded it. I bet Apple don't care either. My next 'pad' will be from Samsung.

Was waiting for release of iOS 8 before getting a replacement for my old iPad which uses iOS 5!

However with all the problems that have arisen am thinking I will get the iPad air with ios7! I assume there are no problems with using nServe with ios7?

The Naim app works just as well with iOS 8.1as it did with iOS 7 and I like it

Updated my iPhone4s to iOS8 a couple of weeks ago, all running fine, including n-serve. Cant say I've noticed any improvements, but I wasn't expecting any either. Glad it works...

There are no current "problems" with iOS 8.1 as far as I know.  If you're looking to buy an iPad Air with iOS 7, you're going to get a used one?  Not bad vfm, but there is no reason to shy away from 8.1 today.

Alter upgrading my IPad Air I have no more problem of N-Stream app freezing after calling the app back from multitasking background. With IPhone 6 no changes (works good as usual)

My folks have my old iPad2, but they haven't mentioned issues. A buddy in the office was saying his iPad2 was very slow. 

 

I don't know if you also had 'upgraded' every version since whatever iOS came on the iPad2, but I recommended a 'clean' install of iOS 8.1 i.e. not a restore from a backup, but complete clean install. 

 

This will take a bit of time and you need to back up any photos taken on the iPad, re download music/films/ programs etc... But it will be the only way to confirm if the speed issue still occurs.  If it is still slow, maybe go to an Apple store to get a diagnostic run on it to check the 'health' of the device.  But the fact a few people on here have the issue means it is not an isolated one.

In the end I bought an iPad Air which the apple store were selling £80 cheaper than the new Air2. It has iOS 7 which works just fine for me with no problems with nServe.

iOS 8 royally buggered up my ipad2.

 

iOS 8.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.etc seems to have addressed all of these problems - so far it hasn't introduced any additional ones.
