Sort by Genre not working 100% in app

Hi All,

I've had this problem with the old n-stream and the new Naim app. I'm inclined to think it's that my UPNP software, minidlna is to blame.

When I filter by genre in the Naim app, I see artists under that genre. If I choose an artist who has only 1 album in that genre I see their album as I would if I was sorting by artist. This part works fine.

However if an artist has more than one album, instead of seeing the albums listed, I'm shown all of their songs alphabetically which makes it impossible to choose an album to listen to.

So it's either:

Genre > Artist > Single album displayed properly

or...

Genre > Artist > Multiple albums displayed as every song alphabetically and no folders

Thoughts?

i would guess the setting (changing the menu tree) is via your NAS.

The issue is your server software settings. The streamer can only see what the server sends it. Similarly, the app sees what the streamer sees.

Looks like your UPnP browser tree is set up to show Genre>Artist>Tracks(Titles) which is fine if there is only one album. You need to amend the browser tree view to Genre>Artist>Album>Tracks.
