Qobuz promotion

Posted by: dayjay on 25 October 2014

I'm sure you will all be aware but just in case if you spend £50 or €50 between now and midnight on Qobuz you get a 50% off voucher for a future purchase.

Qobuz is a sort of chapter 12 procedure: You 50% voucher could be worth zero in a couple of months

Useful perhaps if you wanted to buy 100 quids worth of music for 75 quid in two purchases. Better than hd tracks 15% off especially as their prices are higher to start with

Qobuz has certainly been having some attractive offers recently - and I have been taking advantage of them.

Qobuz has been in this so called 'chapter 12 procedure' for a little while now and they appear to be growing and growing still (in terms of titles offered and promos). Very impressed with them and on the whole they seem to offer some of the best value out there. Also I have not had one bad download from unlike some others.

Like Simon I have been very pleased with them - the quality, the size of the collection, the offers.... So I am hoping they will stay in business.

Plus another, also if you c@ck up a download by choosing the wrong format or delete it in error you can go back and download again. My fav download site.

I'm just about done with downloads for a while

- "Endless River" on 7 Nov. being the exception.

I realised last evening that I've only played some the 20 or so I've added in the last month once or twice  - again a few exceptions MMIL for e.g.

I use a mix of HDT then Qobuz & due to limited store size Naim, B&W & Linn.

I like the Qobuz & B&W ability to get another copy - wish HDT would do the same, I'm told that if you ask they will open up an old order.

A Qobuz question - I have found the folder.jpg missing with downloads,  not sure/can't remember if it was all or some. I've recovered it, but its added fiddling.

Also their download system does always run smoothly & I've gotten into trouble & ended up downloading a zip file.

Anyone else had these problems or is me being thick ???

Mike, Qobuz appears to load album art into the files themselves and so folder.jpg is not needed. I like the booklets that Qobuz often include in the download.

i use Asset as my UPnP server and seems trouble free with Qobuz and Nstream.

I noticed with a  recent Apple OS bug fix patch that the Qobuz downloader started working again, and I didn't need to use the alternate beta download service. If I was being picky I could grumble that the download app is all in French.. But quite frankly that doesn't bother me.

I too find Qobuz to be the best of the hires download sites both for ease of download and price. The only problems I have had have largely been of my own making!

What is frustrating about all of the sites is the accuracy of the metadata but following recommendations on this forum for Mac tag editing I downloaded Metadatics from the App Store and have cleaned up all my files. Highly recommended and in the overall scheme of things, cheap.

Ps Very strong recommendation for Stacey Kent Changing Lights €8.54 on the French site for Studio Master. First Class sound and performance.
