London - Restaurant/bar with with vintage/Vinyl theme

Yesterday, i attended a business Lunch at The Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch

As well as some fantastic food, i was surprised to see an Vinyl theme. the private dining room had a Luxman TT and a 1970's Marantz amp. Background music was played with the waiter changing records (some real classics)! A lovely atmosphere which raised some good discussion around hi-fi.

Upstairs there is a lounge area with a pair of Tannoy Westminsters dominating the setup!

Alas this only appears to be a 3 month residency but what a great idea.

I loved the place.

No connection with the place other than as a very satisfied customer.

I believe someone from the forum mentioned having a birthday dinner there a little while ago. A novel idea.

I heard these monsters once a few years back, unforgettably ama-a-a-a-azing.

I will be around east London for a few days in 2 weeks & its on the menu in more ways than one.

A bottle of a classic red & Westminsters for main course.
