Accessing Unitiserve via Web Browser

Posted by: GeraldUK on 26 March 2011

Hi - im having trouble accessing my unitiserve on my ipad via the web browser.
What do i need to type in?

The web interface for the servers requires Flash, which rules out your iPad - however, the iPad version (2.0) of the n-Serve app should be up on the App Store - well, as soon as Apple can get it up there (it's finished).

Hi all!

Just joined the forum though I have been lurking for the last couple of months.

I am reviving this topic because my access to the unitiserve via my internet browser stopped working. It used to work but no longer.

I am using Mac OSX and both the OS and Flash is updated.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

Richard it sounds like something local -- did the IP address of your server change?  I access mine via a bookmark in my browser that relies on the server name -- not an ip address.  Thus, http://nssrvdf94  This works, unless the server needs a reboot (once every few months).

Thanks Bart. I tried that. Still no go.

The actual server name likely is a little different for your unit -- have you tried your serve's name?  If you used nssrvdf94 it likely won't work.

Other possibilities -- did a firewall setting change?  Can you browse to the server's files?  Reboot the server?

Bart,

Hahaha...I did use my own server's name.

I can access the server and all options are available via N-serve both on my ipad/iphone as well as on my mac. I just can't use the browser....BUT....after reading your post, I decided to use my office notebook to try to access the IP address and it works! So...something to do with my Mac....what exactly? Hmmm......

Richard, can you 'see' the server and its folders and files in Finder on your Mac?

Yup. I can.

It you cant browse to it with Safari or Firefox or Chrome?  None of those 3?

Do you get the black Naim logo screen in the browser and then nothing?  Or some sort of 'can't be found' error?

Ok. So here's the thing. I didn't use Chrome but I finally downloaded it and tried it out because of this issue. Of the 3 (Safari, Firefox and Chrome). My UServe IP address works with only Chrome. Weird....I have no idea. Not a big issue since I have n-serve anyways but it is weird.

Update flash. When you updated your mac, apple removed the flash pluggin from the default install.
