Test

Pre-IE9 install forum posting test. Sorry, I lost the ability to post earlier today after installing IE9. Just formatted the drive and am testing posting before and after IE 9 is re-installed.
Seems okay, Dave.

Thanks George...earlier today I'd get the "please wait" window after hitting submit but nothing would happen. Resetting IE to defaults or rolling back to my last system image with Win7 didn't fix the problem. I've just performed a clean install of Windows and it's working for the moment with IE8.
After I finish creating a new image of this build I'll install IE9 again and try another post. Hopefully, it'll work!
I have been having issues today with the Submit hanging fire on the "wait" mode with the little wheels whiring round and nothing happening. I hit the little cross by the whiring wheels, and then hit the submit button again. This produced the expected click and the reply was soon visible properly.
But something is going on, I am sure, and my old Windows XP arrangement has had no upgrading for a long time. No changes for a good two years apart from the periodic updates but hardly anything this year.
Anyway, I am off to bed now.
But you are not the only one hitting a sticky moment with the submit seeming to hang.
I have been playing about with my bike again today. Nearly finished. Just the wheels to go, but here is a new "ultra-lightweight" North Road bar to replace the pre-1939 chromed steel one I have used for the last twelve months.

That's the same problem I've had -stuck progress wheels on the submit box but nothing changed for me when hitting other buttons. The same thing is happening after a reimage except I can cancel out of the stuck wheel window, re-submit and my submission (edit actually) is successful. Must be an issue on the server side. Oh well...it was time for a clean install anyway;-)
Nice wheels!!;-)
IE9 reinstalled -test complete.
At least I can post now though I still have to cancel out of the "please wait" window when posting and re-submit. The second re-submit always works.
Exactly what I am getting. I have notified the moderators of the fault so that some investigation can happen on Monday.
Dobra Noc! G
Thanks George...I emailed info@naim earlier today. Hopefully it will get fixed soon!
See you tomorrow evening.

test...
testing for Hoopla...
test 2 (uninstall/reinstall Flash -still freezes)
Thanks to all of you who have e-mailed with info on this. For anyone else, here is the reply I recently received from Jonmark at Hoop La:
Hello all,
After reading through this topic I have another thing to ask of you. If the page did not fully render (the powered by is not at the bottom of the page) could you view the source, save it to a file and email that to me as an attachment?
jonmark@socialstrata.com
Also, could you include in your email to me your browser, os, versions and a link to the page that the source is from?
I know this is asking for a lot, but this will give me a lot of great information that should make tracking this down MUUUUUCH easier.
Thanks in advance,
Jonmark
Richard and/or our programming members,
Should I save the source code as a .txt file and send it or as an HTML doc (as i've already done) and send it?
thanks,
dave
Dave, what you sent looks fine to me, thank you. If otherwise, I will let you know.
same problem here for the past few days
I create a "reply", press "submit reply" and.........the cogs keep turning but nothing else happens.
if I press the "x" in the "please wait" box, the reply window disappears, then returns and I press "submit reply" again and all seems to work. Also happens whenever I try to modify a post
Doesn't always malfunction, probably about 75% at present.
Irritating.
Cheers
Don
PS I am using an IBM ThinkPad, Windows XP Professional, IE8
I was getting this, and have found that if you untick "watch this post", it will go through. What I would like to know, though, is "why is that box ticked, when I have disabled email notifications?"
Actually that didn't quite work this time. I unticked it and got the "cogwheels", clicked on close, reticked the "watch this post" and it went through. Very confusing.
Just tried again. Seems that whether ticked or not, it wants you to have a "failed" attempt with cogwheels, then toggle to the other setting to successfully send.
It is working normally for me now, and I am doing nothing different from the other day when each first time it kept hanging. [see above for exact description]

Does this have something to do with the problems I encounter when uploading my Profile Picture?

I'm sure the powers that be at Hoopla are working on this as we speak and Richard will post the fix as soon as it's available. At least we have a work around.
As mentioned previously, simply click on the red x to close the "please wait" box and click "submit reply" again. This second attempt will be successful.
EDITED: still broken here from the US side of the pond.
I'm following the thread on Hoop LA support and have just added a few more bits of info there in the hope it helps them get to the bottom of the issue.
Hi Richard,
I am posting this message @ 13:41 GMT. I believe the UK time display is behind 1 hour, as seen from my Windows 7 (SP1) & XP (SP3) PC's
Last weekend, the UK Daylight Savings Time moved forward 1 hour on 28 March. Can Hoop.la advise if a Server reboot is required to sync with the UK DST?
Best Regards
Denis
PS: I started this post at 13:36
Denis,
I don't think it's that smart. Remember that the server itself is on PDT so everything would be relative to that. Right now there's a small window where clocks have gone forward here in the UK but not yet in the US (I think - correct me if wrong). As every user sets their own time, all you need to do is make a change to your settings. You may find then when US clocks go forward then your original settings are correct - but we won't know yet until it happens.
FWIW, I have changed my time settings to GMT +1 (which is BST). This shows the correct current time for the UK.
Thanks Richard,
I have adjusted my personal setting to +1 hour GMT, now Denis' Savings Time
Meantime back at Greenwich - Anyone who cares about Pacific Standard Time & GMT can avoid confusion here http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.c...ne/usa/pacific-time/
Did we have to make these personal changes before? (i.e. in March & October)
Denis
No, on the old forum, the time was set for all by Admin. Fine, if you were UK GMT based, but wrong everywhere else. The current forum allows everyone to have the correct time for whatever time zone applicable to where they're located - but you have to set it yourself from within your preferences.
Canada moved its clocks forward 1 hour, two weeks before we did here in the UK. (acording to my daughter who lives in BC)
My guess is that the USA moved at the same time as Canada
