Muso does not like the BBC

Posted by: Acred on 24 November 2014

I am unable to get Radio 2 or Radio 4 extra to play from my saved presets. They are in the first and second slots. I can select other saved stations from my list without a problem. This problem started over the weekend. I've done several factory resets and deleted and reloaded the Naim App.

When I've finished reloading a number of favourite stations I am able to select Radio 2 or 4extra from the preset list without a problem. Put it in standby and leave for a while ie overnight I'm unable to get either of these BBC stations to activate.

Today when selecting either of these stations the restoring history alternates quite rapidly showing 0%, 25%, 0%, 25%. If it doesn't do that it says 'connecting' and just hangs. I can however select these stations from the Naim's choice tab. I've tried resaving them but the same problem occurs.

This seams to have happened after I used an Ethernet cable which I've decided to remove and go back to wireless. But as Ive said since removing the cable I've done a few factory resets trying to stabilise the presets and the problem only appears to be with the two BBC stations I've saved.

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix? I've run out of ideas.

Hi,
I am unaware of the mu-so has radio like the streamers if it does i resolved the exact same issue through Mike-B's help.
Go to naim radio and choose r2 from there.Make this your new preset and it should hopefully solve the issue. If this doesn't resolve the problem then sorry I can't help further.

Thanks Scott. The Naim Choice tab seems to be having problems. I've selected Radio 2 from the popular stations tab and resaved it in the presets. I was doing this from the Naim Chonce tab when that workde but still had the same problem.

There is another post 'iRadio behaving strangely' which covers the same problem I'm having.

Thanks again.

Is there a solution to this? I have experienced exactly the same. Have added R3 and R4 to the presets so that they're at the top of the list of five. But they won't reconnect after being left overnight. Like Scoot I had to go back to the Naim choice list before it would connect.

thanks

We have now had a few reports of the preset issue, we are looking into it.

I had the same issue with Radio 2 when I first bought the MuSo but this seems to have resolved itself and now plays fine.

You can store BBC stations as Presets which are remembered across Standby if you choose them from somewhere other than "Naim's Choice" e.g. Location.
