Factory Reset

Posted by: JSH on 06 December 2014

I'm having trouble with my UQ2 wireless connection which is up and down like the proverbial whore's drawers.

I fear it is the UQ because the internet on the computer, tablet and TV don't drop out when the UQ does.  I wonder if there is a bug in there somewhere and whether a Factory Reset will help.

If I do this will I lose all my radio presets and the names of my inputs which I have renamed for family convenience or are these saved somehow

Many thanks

Are you saying the UQ2 is wireless connected (not ethernet wired)  or you are loosing the iRadio ??

A factory reset won't help & you will loose all your presets

If its wirelessly connected you need to find if the problem is with the wireless link.  but the answer might be fixed in the pending f/w & if its iRadio it really will be better wait for the new f/w & app s/w due in a short(ish) while

Its wireless connected - when it feels like it.  It loses all connections and shows "No network" and then resets itself as it is doing as I type.  The computer and TV routed through the same router are chugging away merrily

Are they chugging away merrily wired though?

You are not really answering the question, from a network perspective what is different/same with the qute?

No.  They are all wireless.  I have nothing wired here at all other than the router of course and the NAS into the router

So, does anyone know the answer to this question?

The answer is probably in my last post

better wait for the new f/w & app s/w due in a short(ish) while

My Superuniti was the same. Built in wifi often couldn't see my network when every other device could. As far as I could see, the weakness could only lie in the Naim wifi module. I solved it by connecting it by ethernet to a separate wifi receiver, and never had the problem again.

It may be worth just checking that your qute isnt in a wifi blindspot. Download a wifi signal strength meter onto your smart phone and compare readings

In my case, the signal was good and all devices could see it. Only the Naim gear couldn't.

Thank you all

I will await the firmware update but in the meantime I will borrow a receiver from my son and see if ChrisSU's solution will work for me too

Thanks again

JSH, I used an Airport Express for this. I know a couple of people on the forum have had problems with them, but they always work well for me, in an all Apple setup. I'm sure there must be non-Apple hardware that will do the job too.
