nStream does not find NDS

Posted by: robbo on 14 December 2014

Hello I have just moved into a new house, and now have a new internet provider. I am trying to use nStream but it does not find the NDS at all. The NDS is working ok otherwise - it is pulling music from the server. Can anybody offer any advice? Many thanks robbo

How are you connecting your devices? The NDS is best connected to   A switch like a little Netgear, which in turn connects to your NAS and your wifi access point and broadband router. Use proper ethernet cable to connect the devices to the switch. If you are using the wifi access point inbuilt in your broadband router, and having issues (intermittent or permanent) with NStream discovery, then it might be worth while disabling your broadband router wifi and using an Apple Airport Express for wifi duties.. This would plug into your switch. The Apple wifi product supports discovery techniques  and data types well.

Try turning the nds off and then back on. This needs to be done after connecting the ethernet cable, if you do it the other way around then the nds wont discover the network.

A call or email to Naim Support will get you sorted out if the problem persists. Phil Harris is your man.
