Mine was a visit to SteveJ's aka Dr Blues where I met Steve C and we listened to just a fraction of his the fantastic vinyl collection,on a system the sound of which still lives in the memory and makes me smile.The lunch was not to shabby as well  So thanks again Steve for a most wonderful day.

Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

Another year of living life to the full, sciatica included.

Getting the "All Clear" at my annual cancer check-up.

So as Loki says above... hopefully living life to the full for another year; and listening to some decent music whilst I'm at it!

My wife being discharged after 5 years FU for breast cancer this Autumn. Quite emotional.

On a lighter note the weekend of the Tour De Yorkshire. Fantastic atmosphere.

That's very kind Graham. A highlight for me was having a number of forum friends, including yourselves, visit this year.

As to hifi;

Having Mango Monkey turn me on to his SN2. Then buying one for myself .

As to the larger scheme of things;

Congrats to all who have realized positives on more important life issues!

Musically it was my Naim Factory visit - with the connected extended Statement Listening session.

Musically: Connecting my NDX to a certain class T amplifier. It blew my socks off and I have been barefoot ever since!

Other: Being granted another new day to continue listening.

Personally I'll be glad to see the end of this year. Almost film like, 3 Funerals and a Wedding.

Our daughters wedding is a highlight, but the loss of our s-i-l's mother earlier in the year, the deaths of our son's girlfriend's father and my first wife certainly will make it a year to remember, hopefully '15 will be better.

A personal highlight, six months ago another new grand daughter was born
Musically a hi-cap for my stageline

For me, getting a new right knee.

For me, spending half a day driving a manual, 2 wheel drive 911 around the Porsche Experience at Silversone, learning a bit more about driving quickly properly.

Oh. And my instructor was the lovely Kat Impey, a gorgeous racer.

I was a happy chappy.

Our 20th anniversary this year. I took my wife to the West Kirby airfield on the day the two remaining flying Lancasters flew over. The surprise for her was that I had bought two tickets for a ride in "Just Jane" and we spent a happy half hour taxi-ing up and down the the grass runway.

Retirement.

In the summer of 2013 after my very serious illness of 2012, I elected to take early retirement, so In January this year I retired, two years early. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Good decision Ken! This week I will have been retired for ten years & I'm busier than ever. Folks will tell you you'll get bored & you'll miss work but that's not so if you've got an active mind.

Tony,

I don't miss work at all, only the people. But with email even that is not such an issue and I shall be seeing them all at the old offices Xmas bash tomorrow. Retirement also = more music time!!
