Cheers for the heads up.

The transparent artwork issue when viewing an album on Android has changed. The artwork now pops into view after a second or so. Unfortunately, only the top bit of it visible on my phone (LG G3 running Lollipop), as the list of tracks now starts higher up the screen and covers most of the artwork. Still, nice to see that little slice of artwork at the top looking nice and solid

Working fine so far. However, it now only gives me the sampling rate (e.g. 44.1khz) on the play queue screen. No biggy, especially as the bit rate for FLAC is now somewhat inscrutable!

Oh yeah. Bit rate still showing for ALAC for me, but not FLAC. Wonder why. I use it to remind me if a file is high resolution.

Even with the 4.3 app update the "daylight savings" issue is still present!

It seems that the iOS developer writes a better changelog than the android developer. I know that this is not the work a developer likes and it is difficult to log all changes in detail, but I really would like to know which bugfixes and enhancements are included in this release.

Is it me or is the artwork smaller now?

Works OK and the best (only) port of call for overall control.  But for UPnP playing still way behind Bubble and UpNPlayer for user convenience and ease

I really am liking this app a lot!   Sooooo much nicer than the old n-Stream.

Bravo!

 Thanks Mike,

All OK now.

Yes, why has the bit rate disappeared from FLAC files?

Also why does it allow you to rename digital inputs but not save the name?

On iPad when selected track is playing with the progress bar at the bottom, click on the connect icon and the dialogue box then shows where to connect to other devices but also has the volume control.

+1

Also if we know what's fixed, we can test it!

As soon as you press 'done' on the iPad, the change is saved. It works perfectly.

Just found out if you set the ipad/iphone time to UK time, the daylight savings prompt does not appear anymore. A workaround for now and have reported this to support.

Thanks Kaydee,

What timezone was your iPad/iphone set to before?

Tried, but it is not working for me. Anyway, would be interesting to know why streamers are affected selectivley. Obviously, many others have no problem. My timezone is Berlin.

Cheers

Anyone know of an easy way to select tracks from the middle of a disc?  With Bubble, long press and select; with UPNPLay use the +s

With this damn thing do I have to Select Track umpteen times (with hit and miss results)  to do the same, or am I missing something?

And how do I get the artwork to a reasonable size?

Posted on: 19 December 2014 by Mike-B

To select a single track with iOS,  just touch the three dots next to the track.  & build as many as you want by selecting play next or play last in the popup.

What do you mean by artwork a "reasonable" size ???  With iOS touch the three dots & dashes in the bottom right corner & it brings up a full screen pic for the track playing.  Swipe the pic & it changes the track playing to the next (right or left)

So, as I thought, you have to select umpteen times to select say the tracks of Pictures at an Exhibition from a disc. And be accurate every time or else they go out of order. Poor design

The small artwork is at the top folder level in either the 4 quarters view in the top RH side or in the linear view.  On my Android Galaxy  Tab (7 inch) the album covers are no more than 1 cm square and of course this being Naim (son of Apple) there is no way of increasing them in Settings.  Again poor design

But thanks for the tip on the 3 dots and dashes in the bottom RH corner.  That works on Android too

And sadly, Naim have not fixed the bug whereby a unit left on UPnP loses its information if left on and has to be rebooted.  So we still have to workaround by switching to the analogue as an "off" if we don't want to reboot every time we use the unit.  Poor

Perhaps time spent on things like that would be preferable to messing about with Spotify; but of course that wouldn't coax another £20 per month out of some of us

Well, I have two problems at the same time.

The latest App does not indicate that which song it is playing. Moreover, I can't reach the Naim website at this time to download the new streaming software.

I finally managed to have the n-stream software work. Had to shut down the NDS four times before it found the network. The Naim site got live again and I downloaded the updater. I will install it later. A bit irritating though.

I tried to update. The process got stucked in the middle. I had to abandon the process. Tried to start again. Now the streamer does not respond with a message:

"Please update streaming firmware"

"IP: 0.0.0.0"

"Need v13031 or higher"

You really need to be dedicated to Naim sound to accept this. It sounds so 2000. I guess that at some point I will change the NDS for a software friendly streamer. I am off to write a mail to Phil and to my dealer I guess. Maybe to change for another streamer maybe.
