Controlling the Raspberry PI with HiFiBerry Digi+

Posted by: gand on 22 December 2014

Hi

Currently I am using the Raspberry PI with Asset uPnP as my music source. The Raspberry PI is connected to the same network as my ND5XS. I am using the N-Stream to control the streamer.

So here is my question. I am considering installing the HiFiBerry Digi+ with an optical connection to the ND5XS. In N-Stream I then need to choose Optical input and not the uPnP input. Therefore, what do I do to control the DLNA service on the Raspberry. Any good apps?

I think Bubble UPNP should work (android only...)

i am planning to do something similar.

i also use Asset on  Pi as my server to a ND5, which is plugged in to a NDAC.

I am planning to get a 2nd Pi and install the Digi+ board. I will use Rune Audio's player software on the new Pi and it will access the music on the Asset server. Then I'll plug it in the NDAC and compare with the ND5! I believe these things are in my Christmas stocking!

if you're planning to do this on a single Pi, the Pi will have to be the server and the player - you'll need something on the Pi in addition to Asset.
