Just heard it on the news.

A great artist who will be sadly missed.

A great artist...Sheffield Steel has to be one of my all time favourite albums, superb musicianship and a fabulous recording. R.I.P.

This is very sad news. One of the greatest talants to come out of the great city of Sheffield. Joe's version of 'with a little help from my friends' is one of the greatest cover's in the history of rock.

RIP Joe.

A musician of my generation really. Will play a few Cocker albums tonight,  in memory.

"The Simple Things"

Somewhere Along The Way
I Got Caught Up In The Race
I Kept Spinning And Turning
Lost Myself My Hope My Faith

We're Always Wanting More Than What We Have
And What I'Ve Learned Is All I Really Need Are...

The Simple Things
That Come Without A Price
The Simple Things
Like Happiness Joy And Love In My Life
I'Ve Seen It All From So Many Sides
And I Hope You Would Agree
The Best Things In Life
Are The Simple Things

Sad to see him go. A life well lived. A unique talent.

Very sad news.  Joe had a unique vocal style and amazing stage presence.  I was fortunate to see him when he headlined the (very damp) Lincoln Great Western Festival in 1972, after he had been away from the music scene for two years. I can still remember his set and the welcome the crowd gave him.

It is also very poignant that it is also twelve years to the day that another Joe died, Joe Strummer.

Amen to that Mike. A superb singer who was relatively underrated for some reason. Rest in peace Joe...

Very sad news.

The last time i saw Joe live he was outstanding and had John Miles as part of his backing band.

So in the words of John Miles,

Music is my first love and it will be my last

R.I.P. Joe.

Thanks for some great music.

Sad, and he was so very different as an entertainer & that is just fine by me......

I still remember just how massive a hit  'up where we belong' was in the 80's.
