HDX software update help

Posted by: BigO on 27 December 2014

I see that there has been a software update for both HDX and the DTC. I have downloaded both and updated the DTC no problem but am getting a bit stuck on the HDX update. The download file is a zip from which i have created an .iso file using ImageBurn. This creates two files : HDX V1.7b update.iso and .mds. I have burnt these both to a CD (CD-R) twice but both times the HDX has spun for about 10 seconds and then chucked out the CD. the software version on the HDX remains at 1.7a. I have found these HDX updates a bit traumatic in the past - what am I doing wrong??

And thankyou for giving me the heads up on how to burn the file.

Well, I'm struggling with this too.

There is no ISO file listed on the disk that I can see.

The files listed with iso in the title are actually ZIP files and not an ISO.

If you go down through the zip files you eventually get to a file with all of the multiple files for the HDX, I presume I need to burn all of the to the CD?

Clear instructions in the PDF, but they don't match up well to the file provided.

Which 'disk' are you referring to? Have you burned the iso file (named 1.7b Update.iso) to a cd? If so, then that is the cd you need. The cd should automatically start the update process.

You do not need to open the 1.7b Update.iso file at all.
