[NDX/nSteam app]iRadio spontaneously starts to play

Posted by: Robbert on 30 December 2014

several times the internetradio on my NDX starts to play when i already has stopped it. Sometimes after a view hours.

Is this a standard problem? And must it be fixed?

I don't know where the problem will be. I guess in the NDX because my iPhone is totally off at night. So the nStream app can't be used.

Anybody else who has this problem?

Do you really mean nStream ??

Or is the latest of the new design app(s) available ?

And if so is it iOS or Android & what version number ?

And finally,  what is the firmware revision of your NDX ?

I don't have answers as mine is OK,  but the boys & girls @ Naim will need to know

I do mean the latest app version. Doesn't it called nStream?

The nStream was dropped when it changed - & lost those nice olive colours

Its just called "Naim" app now

I reported this during the later stages of the beta, so I think the naim techs are aware. For now I try to remember to switch to another input instead of just disconnecting the radio stream. I think when losing wifi (in my case) and then reconnecting to the network, the streamer re-connects to the radio stream also. (I'm guessing here..) Anyway, it's kind of annoying when the radio starts blasting in the middle of the night

For the record my setup is:

ND5XS 4.1 FW on wifi, naim app latest version on an iphone 5.

That diagnostic figures

I have always left my app "resting" on FM Tuner & SN on mute, so I guess its hard for me to get that problem.

This has happened to me too. I think you can prevent it by changing inputs rather than simply pausing iRadio. Hopefully, future updates will sort it out soon.

As above. I knock it back to uPnP and that fixes it. If it's no longer showing in the active bar it won't revive itself.

So i'm not the only one. (pffff)

Does somebody from NAIM confess if this is a problem that already know?

Does it repaired by the next update?

Phew... I thought I was going mad these last few days, coming home after work to find iRadio playing.  3 days in a row was getting a little creepy.

I did switch it to another input last night before going to bed, UPnP, however I didn't actually play anything on that input and it was back to playing iRadio for me today when I arrived home after work.  So I guess I have to not only switch input, but also play something via that input, so that the active bar changes.

The other possibility is that I have an iPad and iPhone both with the Naim app - and I don't know if it is the phone reappearing on my wifi as I drive up to the house, or is it the iPad which is sitting around home all day and reconnecting itself?

Glad to know there is a work around, but is there also a fix coming soon?

Morning Robbert...There are two treads running on this problem at the moment. One of which is from me. Hope they help...

Yep.  The same issue here.  iRadio starts itself around midnight without any app running.

This has started after the most recent firmware update.

I was about to post this issue but I'm pleased (if that's the right word) to read I'm not the only one. I've also taken to changing the input to CD since just using mute still meant it was streaming.
