Bluesound Node with Naim Muso

Posted by: ReneTS on 30 December 2014

Hello

Is it possible to add a Bluesound Node to the Muso, as I would really like to add local HD music files to my playlists. And as far as I know, this is not possible with any streaming services I know of.

Yes. Use an optical (toslink) cable to hook the two up. Then change the mu-so's input to optical and use the bluesound app to control what you're playing.

I would do an experiment to see (hear) whether you can tell the difference between true hi res playback and downsampled (such as an Airport Express will give you) before spending $450 on the Node.

But you may not be able to do the experiment without buying each!

Thanks for the answers. I can hear a difference with HD tracks, but if it is enough to spend a lot of money on a Node I dont really know yet But which DAC will be used if I connect a Node with Toslink?

Hi Rene -

If you connect the Node using Toslink, then you are delivering a digital audio stream, and using the mu-so's dac to covert to analog.
