Daylight saving time

Posted by: ChrisBerlin on 30 December 2014

Hi,

after updating the firmware of my SuperUniti the iPhone naim app always asks, if I automatically want to chance to daylight saving time. I always quit this with "yes" and then the app works fine. Is there any possibility, to avoid this question at every start of the app?

Thanks a lot for your answers!

This issue came up in testing and was resolved somehow. There is a way around it, and the question should appear only once. Send an email to Naim asking them what to do.

Hi Naim folks - I have the exact same problem.

I have played around with time/date settings in the streamer settings, have reset the app -- still the same stupid question every time I wake my iPad from sleep.

Extremely annoying...

Wouldn't it make a lot of sense to publish the problem solution here instead of directing every customer to Naim support email individually ?

Help needed !!

I had the same problem and the work around is to set the time zone to UK time on the ipad and the issue goes away.

I can confirm that this 'workaround' does the job.

But now my iPad is on UK time and I don't live in the UK.

And since I use this iPad in business daily this is VERY INCONVENIENT.

I have been through quite some trouble with Naim's iOS & streamer software lately:

First was the recurring 'lost connection' / 'cannot find room' issue (luckily gone by now).

Now this 'dailight saving' annoyance.

I didn't buy a 2300 € piece of equipment to spent hours upon hours on updating, searching the web for workarounds etc.

I still admire the engineering and sound quality of Naim equipment.

But this software-nonsense is very 'low-end'.

If this goes on, I'll get rid of my Naim streamer asap.
