First solo album from Lamb vocalist Lou Rhodes (2005)

Posted on: 13 February 2015 by EJS

One of the last discs the Tokyo recorded, and the last one to be issued - fantastic performances of two Czech masterworks. I have this in SACD (can only play the CD layer) and high-res download. The high-res is a notable improvement on an already good CD.

Procol Harum ~ Broken Barricades  (1971)

This divided opinion at the time amongst 'Harum fans but is probably my favourite of theirs. Sounding very good from the 2009 remaster.

Robin Trower ~ Twice Removed From Yesterday (1973)

This is his first solo studio album and was remastered in 2010. Trower was and is, a huge fan of Hendrix and strived to emulate the sound of that Fender Stratocaster. I have always liked his take on it and have come to appreciate his playing even more as the years go by.

Sometimes i try to imagine Bowie singing God Only Knows whit the Beach Boys. Really a very appreciated gift for us. If you only would.........

This on cd. Way better on vinyl!

Vinyl collectors are spoilt with this album, the cover being something of a classic in  my view: what a great pun?

Yes indeed MDS. Another long-term devotee hoping for the Steven Wilson treatment.

You gotta love a band with the sense of humour to call their first album 'This Was'.

Yes, a great album. Not my favourite - "A Salty Dog" tops it in my opinion but Procol Harum can do no wrong. I recently bought "This Well's on Fire", thinking it wouldn't be as good as the rest. Wronggg!  My very favourite band.

Very good she is too.

Back to work. This is a great record imhao. Fantastic voice and fantastic band.

Songs like Pineola introduce Lucinda of the last records. Her voice is pround and shy at the same time. Something About What Happens When We Talk makes you fall in love!

Which is not a bad state of mind.

My long-time favourite Bowie album. Ch..ch..ch..changes.........

I've always preferred his early work. Among other attributes on Hunky Dory I think the piano playing on it is superb.

Fascinating music of Enrique Granados (1867-1916) played masterfully by Michel Block. Recorded in 1998.
