Bernstein/NY Phil. 1960.

It’s more of 50s glossy Hollywood production, but Lenny never fail to disappoint.

It can sound heavy-handed and schmulzy but this over-the-top melodrama somehow works for Tchaikovsky program.

Was streaming a Mark Turner album via Deezer Elite, and then discoverd Zubek using the "similar artists" facility. If you listen to modern jazz fusion, I think you will enjoy both of his albums!

I guess you mean the Mozart on the other album, as this album only contains Chopin....., but indeed Grgory's playing is something special....

Worth checking out. A collection of standards.

Too much artistic, too less musical in my opinion .....

An excellent version of Mozart late symphonies...

Black Star Riders ~ All Hell Brakes Loose (2013)

I agree with the various commentators that this band has heavy tones of Thin Lizzy. Well executed rock  with that distinctive 'Lizzy sound. Very good so far.

"This is not Thin Lizzy. It is however an album hugely influenced by Lizzy's Scott Gorham who was 1/4 of the classic Lizzy line up so has every right to be part of their legacy. He has a distinctive guitar sound which of course is evident throughout. I have always liked Ricky Warwick and his vocals sound the same as he has always sounded. Maybe the odd phrasing is similar to Phil Lynott as is the way some lines are delivered. There is some of the twin and harmony guitar play that Lizzy made their own evident throughout. Damon Johnson supplys plenty of blistering guitar play.Mendozo and Degrasso are both solid giving a platform for the rest of the band to perform." ~ From An Amazon Comment

Black Star Riders ~ Killer Instinct (2015)

I enjoyed my first play of their excellent first album (above) so I have little choice but to play their latest one. Thanks to Fretfan  who posted on the "what was the last CD you bought" thread and giving me the interest to try out their music.

Iron Butterfly ~ Metamorphosis (1968)

Very different to "IAGDV" and good to listen to again. This is Iron Butterfly playing and singing tunes that are unmistakably late 60's American West Coast psychedelic.
