"This is one of the most highly underrated entries in Coltrane's voluminous catalogue".
"Regardless of the lack of attention, these recordings remain among Trane's finest. (Some reissues add two bonus tracks, "26-2" as well as an alternate take of "Body and Soul.)" AllMusic.com
CD ALAC rip using dbpoweramp.
Thanks Bert.

Marc Cohn
"Listening Booth: 1970" (2010) MP3
great album with Marc's great voice, doing cover songs from the '70's
Jeff, a wonderful album. If you like this, you may well also like Just Across the River by Jimmy Webb.

Agreed. I like Jimmy Webb but I haven't heard that one, will look for it. Thanks.

Thanks for that ewemon. I'm a huge McMurtry fan. Reviews and track samples sound very promising. The CD is on order from the US.
John.
Todd Live at the Venue in London 1982:
The title tune is nice.
A clear case where chemistry overshadows the physics of this recording.
Good stuff - found this to buy downloadable or CD on bandcamp
The Mozart is ecxellent, insn't it?
I guess you mean the Mozart on the other album, as this album only contains Chopin....., but indeed Grgory's playing is something special....
Sorry! Yes, his salzburg Recital recording I Talking about.
The shortest 5th I have heard so far clocking at just 44 min. Cantelli directing La Scala Orchestra. He was just 30 when he made this recording yet he shows good amount of maturity.
There is a similar elegance and aloofness to Toscanini. Cantelli's direction is precise and it does not get too romantic nor overly theatrical. Elegant and fluid but losing out a little in towering majesty.
James McMurtry ~ Complicated Game (March 2nd 2015 in UK)
Listening to this on Bandcamp where it is available to download now as opposed to waiting until the 2nd March UK release date.
James McMurtry's son. A really good debut.

For me he has never made a bad album and possibly the best American musical storyteller. I have some unreleased stuff as well that could easily go on to any of his albums.

I agree Ewemon ,I have just listened to it again (and now on my 3rd time) after having downloaded the full fat version from Bandcamp, It's a really good album, where, as you say, the story telling / story lines are superb. Its been a great way to start the morning! I envy you the unreleased stuff.
In the early 80s many record companies were digitising original analogue file, then converting it back to analogue waves only to put it back on a vinyl! (nuts!)
This Dave Grusin's Digital Master LP on the left ( 1984 reissue )sounds anemic and stripped of colours and dynamics compared to the original *analogue* release on the right (1977 release ) just a few years prior.
Great start of the day...

I also have that one, and yes that's a gem in my collection....
A new find for me, even though I've been listening to The Black Crowes for years.
Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots.
It's a lovely morning, feeling mellow and this is just right.
Culprate - Deliverance, a random find on bandcamp. I don't usually like electronic music but I can't get enough of this album..
