Hmmm. So far, so alright. On first listen it hasn't grabbed me as much as Grace or Raven did, but it's probably a grower.

I'm loving it. Picked up from Burning Shed on Monday afternoon. Better than 'The Raven' or 'Grace' for me. Nice bit of R. Twerk too.

A friend and fellow SW devotee has informed me that the album is based upon this tragic life.

Dipping my toe into Haydn's sonata pieces.

His work is whimsical as this CD cover illustration.

MDS,

Glad to hear you're enjoying the CD. I bought the remastered vinyl version not long ago. The music is great. Don't have an alternate format to compare it to, but I did not think the sound quality was quite on par with the vinyl "People, Hell & Angels", which was excellent. I have the remastered LP version of "Blues" on order, will post my findings when it arrives.

Also during workout

Average album...

During breakfast, for this album I less like the typical Lang Lang effects...

Continuing with Grieg. An early recording by Leif Ove Andsnes and it's not difficult to hear why he became hot property. Grieg's sonata risks sounding like a sequence of four short pieces, but not with Andsnes - he infuses the work with life. The selection of lyric pieces that follows each get their due, too.

Cheers,

EJ

A J-pop from the past. One of my guilty pleasure disc.

They are vocal group active back in the 70s in Japan.

It's amasing amount of rich harmonization and layering of instrument/voices coming through I haven't noticed before unearthed from the grooves via Kandid./ARO.

Different snippets in different places...., I am not yet decided if I like it or not...

Ulrich Schnauss ~ A Long Way to Fall (2012)

"Rich, warm analogue soundscapes.Ulrich has blended a masterpiece of uplifting melancholy building on his previous work. Songs have a more recognisable structure but all have the trademark Schnauss glisten and chime." ~ From an Amazonian's comment

I was really looking forward to hear how Schnauss would influence Tangerine Dream. Sniffle.

Probably my favourite of his to date along with a collaboration he did with Mark Peters Underatted Silence.

John.

Thanks for that John - very interesting to have the background. What a sad story and very well captured in the deluxe book, even after only an initial brief rummage. First listen and think it may turn out to be my favourite of his solo LPs. The Demo disc is also very good.
