Playing the 11minute track Morpheus from The Steve Rothery Band ~ Live in Plovdiv (2013)
Morpheus at the time of this Plovdiv gig was described as "an idea" it went on from being an idea to be the opening track of their new album The Ghosts of Pripyat.

The Barr Brothers ~ Sleeping Operator (2014)
Having listened to this a couple more times I have changed my early opinion about it and have really got into it now.
I slightly prefer this to the first one. Pleased I originally learned of this from Anthony Mason on "CBS This Morning: Saturday". This Saturday their guest is Real Estate, who I learned of from this Forum.
Nice to have lots of sources to draw on.

As recommended by Rob. Heavy traces of early Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane IMO.
Yes, there is definitely something '68, '69, '70 about this band Tony, even the album cover is a throwback to that era... for a group of youngsters from Sweden they certainly have done their listening homework to have been influenced like that.
I am hoping to see them at one of their UK gigs next month.

Steve,
Who's remaster is your pressing?
Is that a US press?
It's one of the much maligned EMI French pressings Kuma. I have about twelve of them that I bought in the late '80s. On the Internet it says they were remastered by French EMI engineers from the original masters. I have to say some are better than others. The Kenny Burrell Midnight Blue and Somethin' Else are reasonably good. Maiden Voyage is so so being a little more flat in presentation. I looking forward to hearing the MM LP when it arrives.

On CD:-
1st press Liberty Blue Note 1968. From my fathers old collection. Interesting to find the original price sticker indicating 47/6d which was a shedload of money to pay for a record in those days. I guess because it was an import. UK LPs were going for about 28/6d, which was still a lot.

Steve,
Well then, MM33 will blow it away.
Almost always imports use a distant copy of original master. I was told that the record companies never let the original leave the country.
Let's hope so Kuma.

Doors - Live At the Isle of Wight Festival.
My first ever real gig was the IoW festival 1970, I didn't know it was going to be at the time but it has also turned out to be the best gig of my life.... 45 years ago this August bank holiday.
I think I have collected all of the Live at the IoW 1970 albums in one form or another, I might just have a listen to them all in sequence over that weekend.
I'm envious, dry-stone. Missing that festival was one of my big regrets. Living in Portsmouth it was easily in reach for me but at fourteen my Mum wouldn't let me go
What's that Hendrix album, Tony? I don't recognise the cover.

Thanks, HH.
Thank you, Nigel. MD, that's on Dutch vinyl and quite enjoyable although very short playing time.
