While perhaps not a perfect recording, delightful to hear the joy of playing in this...
Lee Rocker - Black Cat Bone (2007)
Great rock 'n roll and rockabilly, twangy Gretschs with plenty of upright slap bass from the ex Stray Cats bassist.

Original vinyl...
Great album indeed. Wonderful singing & guitar playing
Phil Selway - Weatherhouse (2014)
Very decent second album by the Radiohead drummer. Much less electronica than the last Radiohead albums; but still has that Radiohead feel to it.

Agree. Good album and just like Thom's solo material difficult to not think of radiohead earlier Stuff.
Did like Amok, you played the other day though, Rob.
Ewe, anything great or extraordinary about these "releases"?

The mix of Thom York and Flea works really well in Atoms for Peace; AMOK gets played a lot Tony!
Vinyl.
Recorded at Van Gelder Studios in 1974. First spin here 41 years later.
David Bowie. Tonight. On vinyl from 1984. Not a fan of Bowie's 80's music, I should have left this in the used bin, but I caught sight of "Masterdisk" and "RL" in the deadwax and brought it home for a cleaning. Yes, the production and mastering are very good; fast, tight, and punctual. All the things I find the SN2 excels at. Unfortunately, the music itself plays like the soundtrack to an 80's Eddie Murphy movie.
On vinyl. Nice album.
The Rolling Stones. Metamorphosis. Picked up today on used vinyl from 1975. I wasn't previously familiar with this album, but found these demos/alternates very enjoyable .
Extremely soothing and relaxing after a brutal day.
Kempff’s Bach is never mechanical or in bad taste. He unearthes a great deal of musical insights and bring them up to date. How fresh they sound! Certainly they do not feel like they are written 300 years ago.
Exquisite control and vast tonal colours. Suble inflictions of emphasis or phrasing makes the tunes more engaging to listen to. Excellent use of rubato, albeit not as overtly done, also adds to the human warmth.

The Kenny Burrell Midnight Blue and Somethin' Else are reasonably good. Maiden Voyage is so so being a little more flat in presentation. I looking forward to hearing the MM LP when it arrives
Steve,
Well then, MM33 will blow it away.
Almost always imports use a distant copy of original master. I was told that the record companies never let the original leave the country.

Steve,
Now the Empyrean Isles is on its way!
And I am hoping they'll redo the 'Inventions and Dimensions' next year.

I have a very good Japanese Toshiba Blue Note copy of Empyrean Isles so I may pass on that one.
