Ewe, anything great  or extraordinary about these "releases"?

Been listening to them on my Computer system but haven't compared them to my cd's. Going to convert and burn them hopefully this week sometime. Once I do I will let you know.

Nice breakfast treat..

Highly individual Kinderszenen and an equally nonstandard 'concept' performance of the concerto. Kudos for Stadtfeld to try out new things, and although I think this works (the concerto took more time), every other person who heard this on my rig thinks it's too kitsch. Beware!

As emotional and as beautiful as the film.

Alison Krauss & Union Station ~ Live at Louisville Palace (2002)

Thought I would give Alison Krauss a bit of a go (for the first time!). I have to say that early impressions are good.

Her debut album is pretty accomplished too, considering she recorded it aged 14!

I have this set on vinyl (my most expensive purchase) and it's really great.

The Albion Band - BBC sessions. I had forgotten how good these guys were.

First record to go on my newly serviced/slightly fettled LP12.

Sounds awesome:

James McMurtry ~ Childish Things (2005)

One of my Xmas presents that I have finally got round to listening to. Opal reissue on 200g vinyl. Beautiful. I prefer this Fripp to the more outwardly virtuosic one.

I picked this Ron McMaster Blue Note CD for peanuts second hand. These are much better than the RVG masters and are basically direct digital transfers of the original analogue tapes. SQ is very nice indeed and I can see why Graham (Quad33) likes this album so much.

Thought I'd get this one out - such a familiar record, it's quite good for testing upgrades/services to one's LP2. 1976 pressing on Toshiba/EMI. Sounds very "wet" and lush.

Sounds like you've downgraded your Linn deck Kevin.

The pressing sounds wet and lush Steve, not the LP12 . Had it serviced, brand new Klyde and a T-Kable fitted. After four months without vinyl, I had forgotten how much I enjoy it. The next few days are blocked off for serious listening...

Hope all is well with you and yours.

I was referring to the "LP2" you mentioned in your post.

Enjoy your vinyl again.
