Not had the Ozrics on for a month or so, this one ((their last studio album to date) is calming the withdrawal.

My favourite Dan LP, this is a US 1976 ABC A/B2 pressing, it's cut really, really hot and sounds great.

great songwriting from John Roderick
Giulini's famous Falstaff, recorded live in Los Angeles in '82. Renato Bruson is incomparable as Falstaff, and the other cast match him in excellence. The sound is not the best ever, with a clear live aura but some boxiness as well, but the performance is fantastic.

"The music can only be described as haunting, cryptic and orchestral; there are some string variations to be found in the negative spaces of the musical mosaics spun here, and Perry Farrell lends vocals to some of the album. His voice seems to fit in perfectly with the structure and mood of the songs - airy, dreamy and hypnotic. The fading in and out of tribal drums serves to further enhance this mood on "Last Man Standing," right before the entrance of a killer beat with undulating bass tones that make an entrance soon afterwards.
This is one of those dark albums which seems to have a specific direction it wants to take the listener, and that feeling is illustrated throughout the majority (if not entirety) of the disc." ~ An Amazonian commentator
Falstaff has to wait for a bit - this just came in. Although I have these recordings separately, couldn't resist the box set. It's a beautiful edition.

Opposite to a lot of "dandy boys" DG has from Time to Time on their Covers this one was a great Pianist.

This one is coming in tomorrow for me. I have the luck that I only had the Scarlatti CD so it will also be a real extension to my collection.
